New Cycling season

Indeed, wow!

Incredible ride by Froome, Porte and Geraint and the latter two must surely be in line for a TdF win in the future!!

One of these days I am going to park the van on one of the stages and see the circus go by while watching the actual race on the TV!! Like the TT races, you cannot get a better "picture" of the race than on TV BUT you have to see it live to understand the atmosphere!!

Tomorrow Tourmalet and Aspen...you can get some great lamb from a mobile ship between the two.....reared on the Pyrenean herbs, only Manx lamb beats it!!!

Apparently Porte is leaving at the end of the season. Think I heard he was going to BMC as he wants to lead (not sure what Teejay might have to say about that).

'G' is a bloody machine though, can see him becoming team leader in a couple of years.

Read my mind about G! ITV4 are confident that is where Porte is going!

This race is not over yet!!!

Damn. G would have to be 'man of the tour' if there was such a thing.

Hell of a crash for G yesterday (or the day before I forget as long, long drive!) how he got back from that k do not know as he seemed to hit his head pretty hard never mind the fall down!!

God day today but say no more!!

How he only lost 38 secs is incredible. Was waiting to see the ambulance pics, then they say he's only 40 secs behind the MJ

Great ride from Froome after a dastardly break by Nibili and a break from Quintana, he kept it up with no team mates to assist to keep his losses down to only 30 seconds!!

Go on Froomie and shame on you Nibali!!!

Yeah. Really bad sportsmanship from Nibali.
They really took it to SKy today. Wondering how many of them blew themselves out on one last gasp attempt to break Froome. hopefully G got a bit of a rest, and Porte recovers for the big one tomorrow.

That was always going to be a long shot anyway. Think he's the ultimate 'team player', so this could help him if anything.

Quintana said today that tomorrow is his day, and it is the same for Valverde. He said literally something like it's ok if I get something today but we're all looking for tomorrow.

Today Froome looked pretty burned out, his already weird posture with elbows out was even more opened, like he was trying to get more air into his chest by doing this. I didn't want him to win until somebody throwed him some **** the other day, now I'm actually all right with it. But I still want Quintana to win.

Anyway, tomorrow is tour+all blacks and boks almost immediately after: is procastination day of the week everyone!

cheers

Enjoy your long day in front of the TV and if either, or both, of them beat Froome, they will have deserved to do it providing they stick with the rules - written and unwritten!!

It's a great shame the abuse Froome is getting, the urine throwing, the spitting yesterday, whether he is on drugs or not that is no reason to spit at a guy making a tremendous physical effort and shame on the guy, he should be arrested and charged!!!!!!!!! no one shouted DRUGS when the Frog won the stage a couple of days ago!!!!!!!! its just like the idiots who scream and shout when the kicker is performing a penalty or conversion only much worse, one of the bad sides of France.

I agree and looking forward to next year already when Quintana will not gift the minutes on the flat he did this year!!

I was delighted there was no trouble out there today and the only things I saw were some pretty pathetic insulting arm movements directed at Froome!

Cav has to win tomorrow to show he is not going down as fast as he appears to be. Even without Kittel, he has been out sprinted and outthought by others and in particular Gripel!

He is out of contract this year and just wonder if parenthood has bled his ambition and desire? Or, like me, is he just getting old!!!

Just heard apparently even the sky car was being spat on and having 'liquid' thrown into it on the climb.

Great result for Froome and SKy anyway, and Quintana remained a gentleman to the end (unlike Nibali).

I remember before the tour how Contador was saying he would try to make the two: the result is obvious. Now he says next year he's going to focus on the TdF. Then he just ranted with his usual arrogance and complex of superiority.

He isn't a really nice person.

In the other hand, Valverde was superb, and Movistar generally have proben to be the second best team in the world. Disappointment: Rodríguez wasn't able to make it to he best 4. Thibaut Pinot has shown he's a chosen one, and everything else is fine. Nairo Quintana is the future.

Bad sides: french fans and others.

@Horacito - you are so right! I was very impressed with Quintana and Valverde but Nibali and Contador proved to be on a level of the fans (I do not necessarily think they were ALL French) who behaved so inappropriately!
@Rich Taff.... Yes, that all came out and tarnished the reputation of the Tour but to be honest, as I said before, it was not as bad as I expected and feared!!

There is a lot to look forward to in the future of cycling and one can only hope that doping is really behind us!

I don't think it either, that is why I said others.

Point being: this aspect of cycling is great, but that's just how the people is, the french are not to bame, even if all the morons were french.

Absolutely brilliant! The video, the sound effect, and over all, Peter Sagan.

Something to dream the next time I got to my humble "cols".
