Some of you guys are speed demons on the uptake, it's quite obvious I was joking.

Although I do agree with what John Eales said about David Campese in Eales's biography "David fell in love with himself 10 years ago and has so far been faithful."

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

What a funny joke!

Someones feeling a little stupid that they didn't pick up on the internet sarcasm that most of my posts are laced with, and didn't notice that I list my fave player as Matt Giteau.

So you expect me to check your profile before posting anything?

Anyway why bother with sarcasm when its not even funny. The reason why it took a second look at the post to find it was because it wasn't funny and I don't know about you but to me sarcasm is something you do for a laugh or to ridicule someone. Not chucked in for no reason at all. Perhaps it is partially because it is quite late but still...

Because it makes it all the more worth it when some noble internet knight takes my post too seriously and continues on about it for the next two days, why else would I pick the best players from all over the globe? simply because I knew someone would take offense at my unjust attack on their idol and would then begin a tirade against me that would last numerous posts. You just make it all the more satisfying by continuing to show how "mature" you are by trying to bully me into seeing your point of view (something I addressed in another topic) even if I did think all those players were overrated it would be completely acceptable because it's my opinion and no one, especially not you would be able to change that. So feel free to continue showing us all your wisdom and how you obviously know better than everyone else in the world about who is allowed to be overrated and who is not. Looks like Tommoloses.

Oh and I forgot to add, James O'Connor is pretty overrated, I personally have never seen him do anything that spectacular.

1) Very immature

2) There is a difference between having a justifiable opinion, rather that a ludicrous one.

3) STFU or GTFO if you want to just roam topics to see who you can get to retaliate first.

I think Burger isn't overrated, but rather past his time. Havn't seen too much from him lately. One highly overrated character is Colin Slade. I havn't seen enough good rugby for him to deserve a starting Crusaders jersey.

One other I think is Berrick Barnes, haven't seen much of him at the Super level.

Agreed complete rubbish.

Here goes..

Australia

Beale, awful player
Palu
Not so much overated but that Tom Carter is a real fool, always looks like hes going to cry
Burgess
Sharpe
This might cause a bit of controversy but i would say Giteau is a bit overated, class player no doubt but hes certainly not on Carters level like many make him out to be.

South Africa

Steyn,garbage
Conradie, if anyone rates him, hes rubbish
Sephaka, useless lump
Willemse, weak and not particularily fast
Habana

New Zealand

Nonu
Cowan
Ellis
Laulala

so you pretty much just listed all these 3 countrys best players. if they are over rated then who isn't???

You honestly believe that players like Beale, Carter and Sharpe are the best players in Australia?

Anyways, I definitely don't agree with Giteau being there... yes... Australian commentators like to state that he's the best in the world... he's definitely up there... but not the best...

ok so maybe beal and carter aren't the best in the country but look at the rest of the list. palu, nonu, laulala, habana, steyn, giteau, sharpe. these players all some of the best in their position in their country if not the world....

I think Barnes is a fantastic player, Cooper probably has a better kicking game. Barnes hasn't been great this season and the media have hyped him up lately. He didn't kick as much as Donald tonight.

Are you serious?!??! He was in the RWC 2003! He'll be sticking around for a while then...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bull @ Mar 27 2009, 12:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div>
Schalk Burger
Bryan Habana
Juan Smith
John Smit
Peter Grant
JP Pietersen
Frans Steyn
Adrian Jacobs
Bolla Conradie
Ricky Januarie

Wow! Only One Bull in there, how very unbiased of you. If anything your entire team is overrated - and it's being proven now othat they've left the sacred ground that is Loftus.
AD Jacobs is an absolute revelation, who still practices the fine art of creating space as opposed to trying to barge over anything (aka every Bull backline player that's ever existed, except for the 2nd Monty, Olivier)

Gonna take a little stick for this comment, but what the hell...

Over rated...

Francois Steyn and Rory Cockett

Now before you start throwing the oranges (or broken bottles) let me explain. This is based on the players in their current form. Steyn is playing fly-half, a position I honestly believe he is not suited to, but under the circumstances is forced to be playing... I believe he is a far better fullback, a position where his incredible firepower off the boot would be better served in gaining territory. His problem is the fact that we have Terblanche at fullback - and he ain't going anywhere.

Steyn has his moments of genius, this we all know, but we really need reliability at such a pivotal position and his decision making is poor - drop kicks with men to burn is unforgiveable. Steyn at inside center would be first prize for me.

Now on to Cockett - this man spends far too much time under the ruck rather then servicing it. And even when he does get round to actually doing his job, he is slow and cumbersome - almost always delivering the ball to players who waiting for him to distribute the ball rather then running on to it.

Honestly, look at how often someone else has to get the ball out of the ruck? Last Saturday I though Ndungani was playing scrumhalf. the ball from the rucks was slow and inaccurate.

Now, I am also wondering if this 'I'll do it myself' type of play from Cockett does not stem from a trust issue with his fly-half? If Cockett, like me, feels Steyn is making bad decisions - perhaps he feels the need to keep running it up, resulting in his poor form?

It's a thought? I think Cockett plays better with Pienaar, and trust may well be the issue...
