Meh, best to let sleeping dogs lie. I saw the interview, and it does seem the the Herald have once again taken a very selective portion of what he has said. He did seem to have sour grapes, but he whinged about Harinordoquy too (rightly so, mind you). Some things he was stupid for bring up such as the eye gouge and the "McCaw knee" which only makes him looks stupid. That being said, maybe there should have been more tribute to France at the end of the match. Obviously Henry and McCaw were just so relieved to have won the World Cup after years of failure that perhaps there wasn't the edicate of giving opposition as much praise. However looking back at every world cup from 2007-1987, there have yet to have been any real tribute to the losing team. It's always been about the winner and not the loser.
Be careful not to lump in an entire half of the world in generalizations. We don't endear ourselves doing that. Rest assured we have as many sour grapes in this side of the hemisphere with our teams. The Graham Henry after losing to France was all class, not criticizing Barnes at all (which I think is pathetic of Lievremont) and taking responsibility for his team, but some New Zealand fans behaved very poorly after 2007 (not helped by antagonisms from overseas).
