Just found out that a friend from Uni committed suicide last week.
I've been there - I only survived childhood through incompetence, and early-adulthood though an understanding fiancée (even though it broke us) and tutor.

This post is just to say - if anyone here is suffering from dark thoughts - you don't have to suffer in silence.
If you don't want to seem weak, or be medicated, or risk sectioning, or professional help, or to talk to IRL friends - please, reach out to someone, even the Samaritans.
Hell, reach out to me - if you want that anonymity, and have no-one else, send me a PM.

It's okay to be not okay.

Here here!!! I can only offer my heart felt condolences to you, ive had 1 or 2 people from school pass over the years, it straightens you up a little bit.

Ive been through some stuff myself, I deal with mental health issues in my community daily, and I stumbled into healthy coping strategies by pure accident.

Most men do indeed live a life of quiet desperation, but it doesnt have to hurt, you can find purpose.

Mental health is the exact same as physical health, you wouldnt feel shame for breaking your ankle, you'd get it treated!!!

Sorry to hear about your friend WT.

Offer's open here as well. I've been through it, including two failed attempts, so no judgments, just happy to be an ear.

Being kind to yourself is key to good mental health. No one can be there for anyone else 24/7. Only you are there and one thing I’ve learnt is you can’t escape being you, dark thoughts and all.

Can’t force someone to talk about things if they don’t want to and often you have to read between the lines and their behaviour, if it’s out of the ordinary. That’s the hardest thing especially if something is going to to something like this comes completely out of the blue.

And That’s the thing with suicide - understanding why and how they got to that point where they came to the conclusion that life just wasn’t worthy living anymore.

Just to leave this here, because I think its an incredible visual of the situation, and I dont mind admitting just watching it again makes me well up a little...
