OSPREYS skipper Alun Wyn Jones refused to blame French referee Christophe Berdos for failing to get to grips with Martyn Williams in the Welsh derby draw.
For Jones admitted that the Ospreys had failed to deal with the Blues openside veteran at the Liberty Stadium.
“Referees have taken a lot of criticism over the last few days and I am sure they will for what’s happened over this weekend,†he said.
“We are disappointed in that facet of the game but it is what we have to deal with.â€
But Jones admitted he was bemused by Williams’ ability to keep on the right side of the referee last night.
“Martyn wears an invisible cloak, rather than a halo,†he smiled.
“It’s not for us to say anything about what Martyn did at the contact area or what he didn’t do.
“He got away with some manipulation of the laws â€" and it’s in our arsenal to do the exactly the same.â€
The Wales and Lions lock admitted he was disappointed that the Ospreys had failed to score a try and had failed to shake off the Blues in a vital derby showdown.
“We are pleased to get the two points but disappointed we didn’t get the win,†said Jones. “It felt as if we were a score away from breaking them.
“It was a typical derby and it’s just a shame it has to be played at this time of the year.
“We are disappointed it was a draw but it was probably a fair reflection of the game.
“It’s just disappointing because we came close to getting the win on a couple of occasions.â€

Does this mean that Martyn still has game?
