World Cup winning All Black Brad Thorn continues to be linked to a short-term move to Heineken Cup champions Leinster, with the Irish club reported to be close to snaring the veteran lock.Leinster are desperate to cover a second row injury crisis as the European season heats up.
They also have their sights set on French icon Sebastien Chabal if the Thorn deal doesn't come off.

It looks like Thorn is the 1st pick, but imagine Chabal in Ireland...look out!

Yeah, I was slightly overdoing it to get at you, but Thorne would be an immense signing. By all accounts all that's left is for Leinster to get clearance off his Japanese club, who seem open to the idea.

I think the Chabal rumour just comes from a throwaway remark made by a journalist in the Irish Times. I doubt there's any truth to it.

Thorn would be a brilliant signing if he's used correctly.

There's no wrong way to use Brad Thorn. He was the best player of the WC I think, always underrated by the uninformed eye.
