Leicester Tigers + Canterbury of NZ

So just two first division teams? You don't see much of the others, so I tend to ignore them. Same as in NZ, I'm sure there's a second division team with green and red, Wairapa Bush...
5 out of 24 is a fair amount.

Could argue there are only 3 teams in the premiership and 3 in the Championship who use blue.

Yeah, blue tends to be one of the most popular... Considering there are only a few core colours (red, blue, green, yellow, black and white) I'd expect to see more greens.

In Super Rugby...

Blue - Blues, Highlanders, Rebels, Waratahs, Force, Brumbies (mix with grey), Bulls
Red - Crusaders, Reds, Lions
Yellow - Hurricanes
Black - Chiefs (with red and yellow), Sharks, Stormers
White - Cheetahs

Dunno, don't the English coaching team have their own private section for discussing tactics?

I jest, I jest.

Colours in predominance:
Bath - Bluse, Black, White
Exeter Chiefs - Black, White, Blue
Gloucester - Red ("cherry"), White
Harlequins - Battenberg cake
Leicester Tigers - Green, White, Red
London Irish - Green, White
London Wasps - Black, Yellow
Newcastle Falcons - Black, White (red on the new kit?!)
Northampton Saints - Green, Black, Yellow ("Gold")
Sale Sharks - Blue, White
Saracens - Black, Red
Worcester Warriors - Blue, Yellow ("Gold"?)

I always thought the Tigers got their name from the Leicestershire Regiment who were known as the Tigers after service in India early 19thC, wikipedia (we're not worthy!) also says they may have played in brown & yellow shirts leading to the Tiger moniker.
I do think I would like to see a revival of a previous nick-name "the Death or Glory Boys"! thats got a nice ring to it :)
Didn't Gosforth play in Green & white hoops? Im sure they did in the '81 Cup Final.
I am old school and still prefer the traditional red white & green narrow stripes.

I love rugby stripes. I'd really like Cardiff Blues to go back to dark/light blue stripes and the Ospreys to try out black and white stripes (and actually include Swansea colours!)

So, I'm late to the game on this one, but the RFU is switching over to Canterbury also? So does this mean no more Nike England Kit???

I actualy said we should have gone with a Gold Jersey with blue and maroon trim as gold is the only colour common through our three provincial teams, and only used by one other team......but i'm liking the idea of a quins type shirt

Hi Guys I'm new boy kixeretik,Everybody knows Canterbury use same model/Design 2011 to 2013 Summer, Leicester new shirt is current model, I can Imagine England New Shirt.....

Sale Sharks are switching to Canterbury as well, I believe, as Cotton Traders have stopped making rugby kits (Newcastle Falcons have switched to a company owned by an ex-player. Think it's "Orion"?)

Olyy I believe the company that the Flacons are apparently going with is Olorun ;)

Nah, defintiely Orion, or at least is for the moment, they released the kit last week:

The company is run by an ex-Falcons player (Richard Metcalfe).

Ah just a couple of boys I know tweeting that the Falcons have apparently gone with Olorun. Interesting indeed.

Looks like a Saracens top. God only knows when they decided on red as an accent colour.

I would say quite some time ago. They were originally Newcastle Gosforth (merged in the late 1800s)

Plenty of red there in the 2nd Quarter.

However, in 1997, the club split in two again. Newcastle Falcons retained the red colour on their pennant

...while Gosforth dropped the red from their 2nd Quarter altogether except for a little on the Lions Head.

Interestingly they dropped the blue & white stripes from the 3rd quarter, perhaps symbolising the split.

Well, you asked!! :D
