Kiwi Barometer

Meh Mose is a decent player, but i think he has yet to make a claim internationally, Rodders is a class all rounder.
Mose is bigger yes, more of a smash n bash player, not as skilled as rodders.
Then there is the Chiefs Sione Lauaki who is henrys prefered smash n basher, but still behind Rodders, Lauaki is more skilled but has less of an allround game.

Mose is the new Xavier Rush, while both were outstanding players with great talent they will never be international level due to better players

1. Dermody
2. Mealamu
3. Hayman
4. Rawlinson
5. Eaton
6. Collins
7. Soakai
8. So'oialo
9. Cowan
10.Weepu (could have said Brett, but then Weepu did what none of the other 10s have done for the canes all year)
11. Probably the hardest pick of the week as all the 11s were average. So I'm going to throw my hat in and say Waqueseduadua simply because he still makes breaks despite playing for the Highlanders :p
12. Tuitupou (Mauger was pretty good in parts but went off the boil a bit, while Sammy made an imediate impact on attack and defence and carried it right through the game)
13. Toeava (Kahui looked dangerous in spots, but hasn't played as consistently as Toeava)
14. Howlett (Record breaker. Meh, but can't be faulted for his D.
15. Jane

I'd have Braid ahead of Soakai. I didn't watch the Crusaders or the Hurricanes match, so can't comment there.

Week 10 Lineup:

1. Tony Woodcock (BLUES)

Yup, and that's a pretty happening backline... think the pattern for the next AB 30 is starting to take shape.

I wonder if Kieran Reid would've made the Auckland team if he stayed in Auckland? He's way better than Anthony Boric

Good call Mimic, for the Crusaders though they'd have to be stoked to get him.
He's really put his hand of for contention as has Big Ross... Robinson, Flavel, Eaton, Williams, Rawlison and even players like Ormsby... Jack might find it hard to get a spot.

Fingers crossed the pick Flavell and Robinson to match upagainst Matfield sometime... and give him a bit of a touch up...

Jeez NZ have very great talent I think Blues will play Crusaders in the final.

They can make a second team and still beat any team in the world. :wall:

Do you mean Auckland as in NPC or in Super 14??

Coz Boric plays for Harbour.

My god Juggernaut did you actually watch the Blues game?
For mine, no Blues players this week (although Kevi made a good impact when he did come on and Holwell tried his ass off and deserves a mention).

Dumbo's pick based on the performance on the weekend is as follows;

1 Clarke Dermody (Highlanders) - for destroying the Crusaders scrum
2 Anton Oliver (Highlanders) - for destroying the Crusaders scrum
3 Carl Hayman (Highlanders) - for destroying the Crusaders scrum
4 Jason Eaton (Hurricanes)
5 Keith Robinson (Chiefs)
6 Liam Messam(Chiefs)
7 Tanerau Latimer (Chiefs)
8 Mose Tuiali'i (Chiefs)
9 Brendon Leonard (Chiefs)
10 Stephen Donald (Chiefs)
11Hosea Gear(Hurricanes)
12 Rua Tipoki (Crusaders)
13 Casey Laulala (Crusaders)
14 Roy Kinikinilau (Chiefs)
15 Sitiveni Sivivatu (Chiefs)

8 Mose Tuiali'i (Chiefs)[/b]

???? <_<

I picked Mealamu on his second-half perfomance. He performed exceptionally well and showed why he's the premier hooker in NZ.

Woodcock was able to hold his own against the tough Sharks pack and his mobility around the park was even better than Dermody.

I still rate Toeava above every other centre in NZ at the moment.

Rawlinson's form was probably the only good news for the Blues during the game. Nucifora made a mistake in taking off.

Obviously I meant the Blues, as its Super14 time.
Mealamu had a very good game. It's a pity when you're down 26-6, theres only so much your All Blacks can do.
Toeava had an ok game, had some good touches in the match, and always looked a threat

Do you all think Sivivatu will get some game time for the All Blacks at fullback?

The next person who suggests that either Sivivatu or Corey Jane are the future at the AB Fullback spot will get a pen shoved in their eye.

I don't see how either of them could even be considered international (well, at least at Fullback in Sivivatus case) players... Sivivatu I don't think should ever have a number 5 on his back, he has no kicking game and he's hardly the most tenacious defender out there.

And Boric > Kieran Read. Don't get whats with the Boric hate, sure, he ain't going to make the All Blacks, but he's solid enough at NPC/S14 level, especially off the bench.

Remeber this only based on the performes of the week not who's gettign selected for the RWC (check Chiro's post in the RWC section for that).

I set this to mainly see who was performing week in and week so that when the RWC squad is selected we could have a gander at the weekly performers against that squad.

I nomiated the entire Highlanders front row due to them together destroying the Crusaders scrum.
Man, they killed it, positive sign for NZ rugby.

Yeah, Mose for the Chiefs, sorry guys - wishful thinking...
