Killzone 2

Lol yeah I am expecting a pretty venomous response. Another clip and the game play looks good. Until you play it tough to judge as might not feel right at all.

One point that I really like is the reviewers saying that the guns actually feel heavy which would appeal to me more, as FPS where the gun moves around as if you are wielding a feather does not do it for me. Hopefully this might help with my motion sickness as well lol.

The one big concern for me is not graphics or gameplay but whether or not I feel like barfing after 10 mins.
 
Well I hated KZ1 and have reservations about KZ2. However after the same old same old that was COD5 I am looking for something to improve on the impressive COD4 of 2007 regarding FPS games. 2009 does not seem to have anything that might challenge that masterpiece of 2007 except....KZ2. The only thing that makes me want to give KZ2 a chance after the flop of KZ1 is that KZ1 was another inferior platform....so apart from the storyline and settings this new game is a build from the ground up.....and lots of hardcore gamers that were in the beta online say it is a unique experience not just surpassing the original KZ1 but also surpassing anything ever on a console. Now that is a big thing to say in the light of the award winning COD4.
 
i rented KZ1 - and wouldnt buy it after - left alot to be desired

i will check out metacritic, and gamerankings on this - i wont wait for a demo if its above 90%

its released in the usa sometime before australia, so will get a good idea - and just maybe i'll buy the us release via the internet, region free, fark waiting tactics - although i may lag in online matches with those americans
 
All this talk about FPS has made me think about what I would want in the next gen FPS...note I did not say next gen console FPS...I mean next gen FPS...this is because I think the current best FPS (COD4) is pretty much the same setup as all FPS games since doom.

What I would like to see....is to have the bottom buttons (L2 and R2) being used to "look"..this is totally seperate from your normal aim look with the gun. This is more like racing car games (midnight club) look. So the gun still aims straight while you take quick little peeks to your left (L2) or right (R2) or even behind (L2 + R2). What would be even better would be if you had an option where you could set it so the "look" would perhaps even zoom a bit and centre on the nearest enemy.

The reason I would like to have this look setup happening that is seperate from your gun look is because in real life you do not always go places looking down the barrel of your gun ALL THE TIME. Most often your gun will enter the room pointed one way and you have little quick glances with your eyes or turn of your head. The old way of scanning a room (having the settings on super high sensitivity with your aim) to look around has and always has been slightly flawed and a slight step away from real life. Almost half of the frags online with COD4 where because the players only have the aim look to see where people are and it is not efficient enough to scan your surroundings.
 
i think FPS should be broken into a sub-genre

Cover n Shoot

i love them both, but cover n shoot fps can turn ugly with silly popping out, shoot, throw grenade flush man out...it just can be silly
 
I just want a good cover system implemented so you can hide on a corner and peek around and aim then fire if need be.

The look left and right idea would be good as well and maybe a run into diving roll as a bullet or grenade dodge instead of just the jump. You could imagine how cool it would look from upstairs in a building, a grenade is thrown at you and you run for the nearest window, hit the dive button, dive out...BOOM!.

As awesome as COD4 is there is still heaps that can be improved as I'm sure they will.

Still think it's awesome as.
 
I doubt Killzone will break new boundaries but will be a very solid game with great graphics. I reckon multi-player will make or break it for me as I could not care less about about computer AI etc I want human AI and talking all the way.

The only exceptions are MGS4, Unchartered, GOW3.

He makes some strong statements there that could possibly lose his credibility if proven wrong on release day. To say things such as "" is almost review suicide. He finishes the review by giving it a 9.9 and says "We’ll bite the bullet and accept that Killzone 2 has graced the ranks of all-time classics like Half Life and Doom. This game will make you a believer!". Seriously...to put KZ2 on the same level as the PC giants of Half Life and Doom is very risky talk.
 
Could not agree more GG. Definate fanboy. One thing I really hope you can do is turn off the head bob and gun bob. I heard you guys say that you can do it on some FPS shooters.

GG you getting this soon after release? We can form a TRF clan that would be pretty awesome.

I will hire it out and if it is better than COD4 then I will definitely get it.

Everytime I watch those videos I think that the game is a PC game rather than a console.

Touched a nerve there hu? :lol: Speaking of Truth it does hurt sometimes but no need to be bitter Teh. I am not sure why you are getting so worked up over a clan name for a game that you are never even go to buy so why the aggro? I take it you still don't like the idea for promoting the site then.

For someone who predicts this game to be a failure before it is even out you seem to be visiting this thread alot! Is it because you a morbid fascination for this game or me? :lol:

I will heed your advice and try grow up because I see from your mature responses such as "grow up you flakey twat" I still have a lot of growing up to do.
