Any Italian speakers amongst us? Apparently this link says that the Italian franchises have come up with the E3million needed for entry to the ML:
http://www.rugbyuniontimes.com/2010/02/04/...osta-del-board/[/b]

Confirmed it seems:

http://sport.scotsman.com/sport/Viadana-an...e-up.6050171.jp

Guarantee you that the Scots will try and move the goalposts again now their bluff has been called. They seem to think that at least one of the ML places going to the Italians is theirs by right and are hell bent on making sure the Italians don't join.

It's good news if it results in Italian entry into the competition. After years of bleating about how Argentina should be admitted to the Sanzar tournaments, it would smack of double standards not to help Italy in a similar manner.

So is this confirmed then? Would be great news indeed. Italian rugby needs this if we are to progress in the future.

Not yet. Not until the fixture lists come out with two Italian teams included with the other ten.

If the Italians have offered the ML teams 3 Million Euro as a dowry then they should be given the chance to compete.

One issue now is that will Italian players overseas be wanting to go back to Italy now? We shall see..

I doubt all of them will, but certainly a few NT members will go back. The likes of Masi, Perugini and such... who can make a strong team... of course the Italian teams will not be so great to begin with, but give it a few years.

more and more rumors that next monday the italian teams admittance will be official, some private sponsor should have provided the 3 mls grant that was lacking

many italian players actually playing "overseas" will be back, Perugini had alredy said it explicitly and I'm sure also Bortolami and most of the others will come back

the only ones who will stay abroad are Parisse and Castrogiovanni and, probably, the Berga bros, plus the palyers who are not in the azzurri squad anymore (Nieto, Dellapè, Lo Cicero, etc.)

[/b][/quote]yep, a lot of water over there... (forzen though...)

by the way, between my home and France, just a few beaches..

It's good to see the Italian squad going back, so the desired impact can be had.

Absolutely delighted and in 4-5 years I strongly believe Italy will be a contender in 6Nations for a 3rd spot finish.

As for clubs well gone are days of expecting to go over and get BP wins. A win will be hard enough.
