The whole reason there's so much kicking these days now is because the defensive line isn't allowed to pass back into the 22, hence the aimless ping-pong akin to Super 14 rugby because everyone has a kicker who can put it over anywhere from their own 10m line - Sod running it away, just get it out of the half.

The cure is to reverse all the ELVs (apart from 5m at the scrum) and reduce the value of penalties and DGs to 2 points. If they're not so valuable, they're not so attractive. We're all sick of games with scorelines dividable by 3.

Sexton should've cemented his place at 10 for the 6N after this, made all his kicks in difficult conditions, good kicking from hand for the most part (one blip when under pressure in the first half) and not afraid to get stuck in like ROG is

Absolutely. Teams should have to show some invention to win and not just rely on place kickers.
