IRB bullies?

ranger, just stop... that team was.... errrr really?

Anyway, **** the IRB , ***** can lick my black maori ballz! yfy!

I heard on the radio this monring, apparently people got a right telling off from the IRB for showing that marrige proposal during the England Scotland game, a text directly to the camera people within minutes "no more marrige proposals"

how does that effect their sponsers etc? its a bit of fun

Storm in a teacup time.

Lots of name calling and chest puffing to follow from both sides over the next fortnight, then it will all be forgotten by xmas.

Ranger, I can't see the privately owned European clubs, releasing any more players than they have to, for a world cup, so I doubt that they could be enticed into releasing players for a team to represent a country not selected by that country's union.

As for the IRB's stance on things, they (like the NZRU) are about to go into negotiations, so they are trying to look as strong as they possibly can ... it will be interesting to see who supports who ... I think the threat of withdrawing IRB money, may persuade some unions not to support New Zealand (the island nations)

... I think the player's association might have a deciding factor in determining the outcome of this (and other) issue(s).

I heard this suggestion on the radio today and I thought it was quite good.

Every spectator going to the quarter finals this weekend should wear Nike mouthguard. Haha.

But if the IRB stripped New Zealand of its international status and then formed a new team based in England which it deemed to be 'the' New Zealand team, granting them NZs ***le, then the players selected would be selected by 'their' union and have to be released (unless the union can convince the individual not to accept the selection like Helleur).

Also, the lack of funding may force the island nations hand; but with Tonga in such a spin with the parlimentary intervention and missing money etc and Samoa dropping down the pay scale for failing to make the quarter finals anyway, i think they might decide to risk it and stick with the NZ and Aus side.

The head of the NZ players association has also said that a dramatic restructure is urgent, so they are with Tew on this one.
