Connacht scrum-half Conor O'Loughlin has been forced to retire from rugby because of a hip injury.

The former Ireland A and Under-21 scrum-half has been troubled by the injury for several months.

Poor lad, hopes he does well in what he does next.

Sad day when a player is forced to give up on the game due to injury. Wish him all the best in his future projects

Conor O'Loughlin, Conor McInerney, Ian Dowling, Trevor Hogan, Ronan McCormack, John Fogarty, Bryn Cunningham and David Pollock have all been forced to retire this season and that's just Irish players. There's a major problem with too much rugby being played. The sooner it's addressed, the better.

Agreed Snoop and i think people don't realise if your not an international your actually at a higher risk of burn out
