Heineken Cup Final: Ulster vs. Leinster - 19/05/2012

O'Caseys in The Hague will be occupied by a guy shouting "ULSTER" for 2 straight hours on Saturday haha

I've been a fan since the summer of 2010 (Ruan Pienaar being the reason) so I have an alibi for being a fan and not being a bandwagon bozo

Leinster Team:

LEINSTER (v Ulster): Rob Kearney; Fergus McFadden, Brian O'Driscoll, Gordon D'Arcy, Isa Nacewa; Jonathan Sexton, Eoin Reddan; Cian Healy, Richardt Strauss, Mike Ross, Leo Cullen (capt), Brad Thorn, Kevin McLaughlin, Sean O'Brien, Jamie Heaslip.
Replacements: Sean Cronin, Heinke van der Merwe, Nathan White, Devin Toner, Shane Jennings, Isaac Boss, Ian Madigan, David Kearney.

Ulster team:

ULSTER (v Leinster): Stefan Terblanche; Andrew Trimble, Darren Cave, Paddy Wallace, Craig Gilroy; Paddy Jackson, Ruan Pienaar; Tom Court, Rory Best, John Afoa, Johann Muller (capt), Dan Tuohy, Stephen Ferris, Chris Henry, Pedrie Wannenburg
Replacements: Nigel Brady, Paddy McAllister, Declan Fitzpatrick, Lewis Stevenson, Willie Faloon, Paul Marshall, Ian Humphreys, Adam D'Arcy.

Surprised to see Rob Kearney's scored 6 tries in 8 H Cup matches more impressive than I'd thought.

Who put so much vcash on Ulster? Can understand betting on them but that amount is ridiculous.

It's most likely because the lineout was such a shambles. I too would still have had SO'B at 6.

Yeah but for a two horse race those are very attractive odds. If Ulster win those who bet on them will get roughly ten times the amount they would if they put the same money on Leinster and Leinster were to win. And lets face it Leinster might be favourites but I wouldn't think they're ten times more likely to win.

Interestingly, O'Brien and Ferris have only played each other about once. They've played with each other far more often - and apparently they room together on Ireland camps.

Imagine being a burglar and breaking into that room while it was occupied

I imagine it would be more like this.

There's more to it than that as well. Our pack is big, and we're likely to try and run you over. KmcL allows you to fight fire with fire, then bring on Jennings when legs begin to tire and people are a bit slower to the breakdown.

edit: However, it may give Chris Henry a bit more licence... tough call either way.

I fancy that there's also an element of playing the ref here too. Jennings is good at the breakdown, but his penalty count is higher than McLaughlin's. With Pienaar in the form he is with the boot, it makes sense to keep the count as low as possible, especially seeing as we should be able to contain ye lot out wide.

Here's all the Leinster starters I could find tribute videos for:

All true. Particularly as the key to containing us out wide is to not allow us to make headway in the centre, which probably calls for McLaughlin rather than Jennings. Plus he's got the bulk to counteract Henry.
