Heineken Cup 2013/14 Pool 3, Round 6 (Saracens v Connacht, Zebre v Toulouse)

Bloody hell just realised had Hodgson kicked his kicks sarries would have scored 80 points !!! That's ridiculous

Why shouldn't Exeter be in it ?!? If there was ever a team from the last decade that deserves to be dining at Europe's top table its Exeter

Maybe if you read thread properly the issue wasn't who deserved to be in but simply Connacht had performed better than those teams. Any team in this competition got there on merit in my eyes

Well they've been there all along so are put there my point is as I said basically Connacht done a lot better than teams I mentioned after that yea whatever you say

Ok so Connaught being the worst Irish team by a mile deserve it more than Gloucester or Exeter even those those 2 teams have fought all season to be in the top 6 of the AP and Connaught get in because they are Irish .... Yeh we'll deserved . Shows everything that's wrong with the rabo if you ask me . But hey you pushed it so now you know what u think

Yes your rambling on about qualification which has been discussed on 100s of threads here and I've always supported Pro12 been qualified because as a Munster man it's make no difference to us. But that had 0 to do with anything here.
Feic said Connacht deserve to be here sacarstically then I said it was crazy that there's still worst performing teams and Big E mentioned 1 I mentioned few more. Yet you think qualification is the topic and defend Exeter failing to note French champions were mentioned. Well as I say whatever floats your boat ok. Goodnight

I can see where Maverick is coming from - while this shouldn't really come down to another qualification debate, it just boils down to him saying that Exeter are a better performing side than Connacht, which I'd agree with.

I agree 100% with all that and as I said in past I'm all for Pro12 having to qualify. And teams have performed better than Connacht but as I said statistically they have 3 wins and won a lot more ERC ranking points than teams mentioned. But look I not fool I accept they beat Zebre twice and as I said Metro finished a lot worst than them, you hardly think I'm trying to say Connacht better than them or Top14 champs or Glaws etc ha. Lads ye Cray-Zay if ye think that

I think Connacht's defence deserves a special mention for that game. Anyone who can make Goode look like Mehrtens is going some. :p

Hodgson's fist pump when he finally landed a conversion was also a funny moment.

........where has it all gone so wrong for Gael Fikou? An international player and one that everyone felt has a huge future yet he has been missing from this side a lot of this season (11 starts out of 22 possible) and has been pretty poor from what I have seen of him today again and now he has been substituted when Toulouse need some tries?

I have not heard of injuries?

nothings gone wrong for Fickou. He is having a fine season. He is a regular start at Toulouse and in the french squad for the 6N. Not exactly the signs of a poor season so far! There's a lot of competition for the centre position as one would expect . Nobody is a dead cert in Toulouse. There's also a squad rotation in place. For a 20 yo to get that many starts is great considering theclub he plays for. No need to write him off so quick because he gets substituted.

I would stick with "brushes" the face rather than "hit" it..............also think he has having a decent game actually!

Was surprised that Hodges kept referring to the number 2 as the culprit when it was clearl from the replays the tight head 3 .......some haircut Hodges has got though!!

Late to the party (very busy, and just didn't have time to comment during the game)....

I think it should have been a red, simply because (as I remember) it wasn't just one stomp with the boot, but two or three near the shoulder and head. He had to know there was a man's face down there somewhere, and it seemed to me he was testing to see just how close he could get. Not saying it looked 'malicious', per se, but I definitely think he was pushing the limits. The face contact may have been accidental, but I do think the player was being knowingly reckless.

And I totally don't understand why the - was it the TMO? - who couldn't see contact to the face, I certainly could. And the whole #2 thing was just silly. I have to say that it's maybe the first time I really thought the officials were purposely downplaying an offense in order to benefit a player or team. Maybe I'm just being overly cynical, but I was having trouble accepting that these guys were really that dumb, and not just playing at it.
