Hal Luscombe retires.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Sir. Speedy @ Jul 24 2009, 09:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div>
I'm speechless.

As in, I have no idea how this affects me, or anybody.[/b]

HAHA :lol2tn: .Will this effect the rice crisis in China...?

At least I can now create a new player in my roster update that replaces the now retired Hal Luscombe :D .So yeah I guess this effects me then Speedy... :p

People easily forget he was a good player for Wales. And I still wished he would have been less injured when he was on fire for Wales then he would have been capped more. He played at wing for the majority of his games for Wales. His try against France was a good one.

I'm devastated. He will always have a special place in my heart. My wife Amy said she'll also be sad to see him go, whoever he is. I guess there'll be tears before bedtime for many a Welshman.

Hang on, why so much mockery on behalf of Hal Luscombe?
The man was dedicated to his rugby, he represented his country, shouldn't we (the welsh at least) be grateful for what he's done? He played very well at times and for one I'm glad of what he was done, i mean, he was part of the team that won the grand slam in 05.

My knowledge only pertains to 2005 and onwards, but I don't recall him ever being more than a mediocre player.

HEY, YOU'RE THE ONE WHO BROUGHT UP BARKLEY. AND IF YOUR BITTER ATTITUDE IS ANY INDICATION, I BELIEVE YOU ARE ENGLISH, NOT WELSH!

Stupid English! :p

Should never have played for Wales. Was never good enough, but for some reason Ruddock rated him. Yes he was part of the 05 grand slam team, but he never should have been. He took Rhys Williams' place on the wing for some games, which was just idiotic.

Now Rhys Williams is a player that people should feel sorry for, he was a class act (possibly not great at fullback, but he was a quality winger). I don't think he's officially retired, just constantly injured since the year he skippered the Blues.

Rhys Williams was on and off with his injury through the 05 grand slam, that's why luscombe was there.
I remember him saying, when he got the interception against scotland that he didn't know if he'd make it coz he was injured so he couldn't run at full speed.

went to the same Cape Town school as stuart abbott, fraser waters and dan vickerman... who all went on to become internationals, but not Springboks.

half my rugby team atm is from the same school.

There are three players in the world who prove that you dont have to be very good to get in professional rugby. Hal is one of them. The other two are Scott Hamilton from New Zealand and Matt Dunning from Australia. Keeps us amatuers in hope for that pro contract!

If Hal was a good player for Welsh rugby then that could be the reason why you guys havn't won a World Cup. I tell you now that Hal shouldn't have made the national line up considering the depth of talent Wales has.
