Steve Walsh Retires

Really? with his drinking problems

At least he'll be able to look at his magnificent self in the mirrors of hairdressers all the time.

Good luck to the guy!

I respect him for getting through his problems in a very public situation and returning to top class Reffing at which he was probably the most improved...even if it was from a low base!!

Sad about this. I liked his style, and thought he was one of the more consistent referees around. Sure, there's always a bad call here or there with anyone, but I think he had a better grasp of the game than most of the refs I'm seeing these days. Mostly, however, I felt that he had more control of the game (and players) than some of the newer guys. My favorite ref retired a few years back (Chris White), and now Walsh. Not sure who I like out there now.

(Shouldn't this be in General Rugby, since he's retiring from all forms, and not just test matches?)

Thanks for trying to stop me looking like a biased fool, ragerancher. I'm not suggesting that he was biased against England, just that the way he refereed the game didn't suit England. I also didn't like the way that he seemed to think that he was one of the stars of the game.
just say it !!! he hated England.....thank god he's gone !
