Gym

I'm the runt here, I weighed in at 73,4kg tonight and that's after drinking a **** load of water.

I win, I'm a scrawny ******* with a gut. Imagine what that looks like... Seriously it's the only place I have fat is my gut. I'm starting to grow myself some muscles though. Would like it if I could get rid of this thing though. (Don't know how much my insulin shots should take credit for, think I injected into my belly for 10 years straight, switching to my upper legs now but it hurts like 10 different sorts of hell)

Oh yeah and I exercised my forearms tonight before doing biceps (didn't hurt at all this time and I could go heavier) and I did the back/biceps thing (seated rows/lat pull downs) as well as curls etc. Maybe one day I'll be half Heineken's size :D

Go away squats , 3 times this week yaaaaaaay

140kg yesterday yuuuuuusss

I love competitveness/this place. This post made me realise I was totally not pushing myself, so today I went and upped my squats from 65kg to 100kg. I, uhm, probably should have done that increase a wee bit more leisurely, but f**k it. Reckon there's a bit more left in there too before I start to really struggle but didn't want to push it too much...

16 5'10" 93KG need to gain about 10 kg though am a bit out of shape at the moment need to do a lot of work.

Sit-down squats are the best. Have a go on those and then have fun taking a **** for the next week!!

One exercise I hate is that thing when you stand like you're taking a **** or farting with your back at an angle and you pull a barbell towards your chest and back out, barbell row? It's crap, shite!

I'm 16, 5ft 8 and 72 kilos.

I want to get up to about 80-85KG with mainly gaining weight about the chest and shoulders.

Going to be fun

You still have about 3 years of growing left, so shouldn't be too hard. 3 years ago when I was 16 I was so full of hormones I wanted to hump everything in sight including my closet. I'm thinking if I spent that time in the gym instead of wanking my two forearms would be the same size now......... :p

Ha, I also want to add about 1/2 a KG to my left arm! :D

Don't know about thateveryone grows differently I haven't grown to much in a year pretty much the same size. Hoping for a growth spurt this Summer.

The potential for growth however is in your body, at 14-20 (I think?) you're full of that **** other people have to inject themselves with or take as supplements to grow (once again, I think)

While I (and many other male members of my father's family) didn't reach full growth until about mid-twenties.

I think officially you're not fully grown until 25 though for most it's pretty minimal after 18. Actually working the big muscle groups in your body floods it with growth horomones.

heavy weights at a younger age can also stunt growth or something so you have to balance it out when your younger (think its below 16 it has a bigger chance of damage)

That seems to generally be considered a myth now. I've seen people who started gym work early and are now short by comparison to most and others who are average or tall. I only started last year anyway.

I couldn't get to sleep at all last night , personal bested at forearms...

Great work mate , I only began improving strength since I began to force myself to lift heavy as I can until the point where my form begins to take a noticeable decline

This has been debunked by a couple of studies but like most rumours that go around there is some truth to it. If you're young and you damage your growth plate (ie the bone right at the end of any particularly long bone, usually happens down in the legs) it will have a serious impact on your growth. Basically, avoid the serious lifts until you know exactly what you're doing.

Or just tell kids to use machines instead of the free weights. It's a little wimpy, but hey, better than flooding the serious weights with 14 year olds <_<

Unfortunately, my thigh muscles are always so tight that squatting form's a bit iffy for me - but as I can walk properly today, I definitely think there's space to run.
