Do we have any shooters on the forum ?

I'm going to look at a Remington 700 17hmr tommorrow and I'm wondering has anyone any experience with them and can comment on their reliability and accuracy?

Which caliber .223 or .308 Win? Very good rifle its accuracy is about 1 MOA with M118 which means you ammo will be the limiting factor,

Eventually went for this.

It's ****ing sexy.

Filling in the firearms certificate now and feeling like a child on christmas eve ....well ..a Child 1 month and a half from christmas but had his toys pushed in front of his face , he even got to hold them and play with them for a few minutes...but then taken and hidden in the safe until the Elves decide to give them to me.

Of course they did .. i'm the man you guys want beside you when the zombies come.

Accuracy, especially in .22LR's is very variable. Another variable is ammo. 22's are "picky" about their ammo, and a brand that shoots fantastic groups in one rifle will group poorly in another rifle of the same make and age.

What many .22 shooters looking for the best accuracy do, is buy a box of every brand and type of ammo they can find, and shoot it for groups. When you find one that that specific rifle "likes", buy a bunch of it. Still prefer the Marlin 39 over it though.

Of course they did .. i'm the man you guys want beside you when the zombies come.
With that pee shooter?

Do you not need a certified reason for having one, got a mate that used to be in pistol comps but he will have to scrap his guns due to the fact he doesn't do it anymore

He was gutted

If he signs up to a club for 100 or so a year he can keep them I think , I'm using mine for hunting , vermin control etc.

22LR not the best. Accuracy limited by ammunition. A pee shooter compared to the Remington 700

I have 2 ideas for the Zombies. First I play "Thriller" over a PA to see if they really dance. If that doesn't work I throw a rugby ball amongst them and see what happens

Please keep us updated on you location when you are in possession of it. We'll need to be clear of about a 5 mile radius to be certain of safety.

Late night LN7 just got much more dangerous.
I see the need for a new TRFies category: 'Dick Cheney most friendly fire incidents award'.

It's a 17hmr
That is the Cz 452 Vintage correct?

Based on the 22 Long Rifle necked down to 17 caliber. That is about 1 step above a air rifle.

That is the hole the Remington 700 .302 Win makes

It's well able to bag small game out to 250 yards or so.

Was going to to for the centrefire but decided against it as it makes mulch of any meat on the rabbit worth eating.

Pfff, guns. There's only one shooter that's worth talking about round here:

If he signs up to a club for 100 or so a year he can keep them I think , I'm using mine for making sure I'm paid for me drive laying work to be sure, tis a harsh world full of people looking to cheat ye so it is, such as the Garda, who are they to tell me I have to pay taxes, but I'm sure I'll have no problems with you, cash in hand please, or me and the shooter will be back etc.

I'm pretty certain this is why he actually has it.
