Guinness Pro12 Round 6

I thought you knew your stuff Tigs, Sexton is the better rugby player by some distance. 2013 Lions and 2014 6nations surpassed any level of play ROG ever had, they're probably equals when it comes to European club rugby.

I'm talking about who i would want to play for my club (tigers) and for me ROG was prob the best club 10 in NH rugby.

I'll cop out and say internationally ROG and Sexton were probably better than the other in their respective eras. Sextons pace and distribution gives him the nod in the modern era.

Zebre lose to a weakened Glasgow 33-28 and we're challenging in the last 15mins. A couple of nice flowing tries from Zebre and a defensive bonus point so will settle for that. Guidi seems to be a reasonable coach.

Well done Leinster. Deserved the win and for us its good and bad.
Alpha Bro thinks Sweetnam had bad game but thankfully he's the only 1. Schmidt was full of praise for him and he is a pure Schmidt player. Yes he made errors but is learning. Earls did ok but I think we need him back on wing.
James Cronin will get a lengthy ban I feel and it'll be hard to argue.
On Leinster side. I've always had soft spot for Nacewa and he's class still. Jordi Murphy was superb too but thankfully season is still in early stages and we are still getting better slowly.

It's a cop out but probably fair. Sexton is probably the better all round athlete and very suited to running rugby, but no one control a game or kick like RO'G. It's tough to gague because you can build your team around both players but in very different ways. Both fantastic players. Huge love for both of them even if Sexton did a job on us today.

Easy way to put it.
If you want to play a forwards based game. ROG is easily the better 10. If you want to play a 15 man game running the ball then Sexton the better player.
Horses for courses but ROG was the better kicker and tactically in terms of seen the corners etc. Sexton is the better guy spotting gaps in lines and running backlines.
ROG is better running the men in front of him and Sexton better running men outside him.

Just seen a gif of James Cronin raking a Leinster player's face with his boot.

Looks down, studs on the face of a defenceless player regardless of whether he rolled away or not. Disgusting play, hope's cited. Munster player or not he deserves what he gets.

Was noted by our lads straight away. In this day and age it can't be done. He will be cited and its deserved. He will learn though.

I said he was out of his depth in the 1st half, two awful reads gave Leinster 8 points. Second half he steadied the ship, 6/10 performance. Himself, Kelleher, Stockdale, Adeolokun and O'Loughlin have me excited about our wing options!

Fair comment . Townsend is in a predicament over the injuries to key members of the pack especially the second row with Swinson , Peterson and Cummings all laid up. Rested Gray with back row Harley moved to fill . He was yellow carded in second half which was a downer . Still a win is a win but do not think they are going to find much joy in the Champions Cup !

Not really as I admit his position for Nacewa try was narrow but other than that for a lad with very little experience it was a very good day.
I think like if you were to pick a back 3 from all 6 yesterday Nacewa and Zebo were miles ahead and then Sweetnam would've snuck in as other winger.
Have rewatched game this morning and think if we can sort centre out we will be ok. Tyler is like Quade Cooper at 10 so we need strong centre unit to compliment that. Earls Scannell arent that. I think Earls will revert to wing as Jaco did fine when brought on yesterday

Aye, he's a 6/10 for me due to the lack of experience, Ringrose turned him inside out when Isa nearly scored the first try too, we got three points from that attack. He was solid but not exceptional.

The combined back three for me yesterday would probably have me shift Zebo to wing and Kearney at fullback who did his somewhat limited role pretty perfectly, Isa was in a league of his own in terms of back three play, Zebo did well but also got caught out by Sexton a few times but that'd happen to anyone considering the form he was in. The most interesting battle yesterday was Heaslip v Stander, two very different types of player near the top of their game and impossible to separate, don't overlook these guys for a trip to NZ next year.

On yesterday and more Leinster fans than Munster said yesterday showed Kearney is done at 15 as Zebo is the better 15 and options on wing now are much better. Zebo comfortably outplayed Kearney at 15 yesterday. Both still behind Payne.
Agree Heaslip and Stander are horses for courses. Cant see Heaslip going to NZ as he's pushing on and is only able to play 1 spot. Might be better off missing it mind you.
Agreed on Sexton yesterday was brilluant. As Andy Farrell said to me yesterday after game the real winner was Ireland. He said you name any position and we have at least 2 if not 3 genuine international class options. He did specifically mention backrow and 15.

Sam Davies now in pole position for the Wales 10 shirt this autumn, not just my opinion, Jiffy in the Rugby paper amongst others. He has exceptionally good hands and like his old man has a good rugby brain, playing flat as he does and with his quick hands enables him to put others in holes, yes he missed a few kicks on Friday, which is why we need a fit 1/2 penny back leaving SD to orchestrate the game and not have the pressure of kicking.

45 tries scored this weekend which is a pro12 record for a round. That's averaging over 7 tries per game.

The 9 bonus points gotten was another record.

Tiernan O'Halloran was excellent for Connacht the other night. He is another option.

Saying Kearney is done is insanely wrong, that was a return game from injury and he was brilliant defensively while joining the line well albeit a little infrequently.
