Guinness Pro 12 2015/2016: Round 10 Fixtures

Again figures are wrong and knowledge of the system from kids up here in Munster is wrong. Majority of rugby playing schools here in Munster aren't fee paying or private.
System was flawed due to rules here between schools and clubs.

- Yeah, cos there are 6 million people in munster. I definitely wouldn't be talking about the island as a whole.
- So how many schools does the munster academy realistically take from? In ulster its a mere handful. Same in Leinster, not sure about Connacht.
- System IS flawed due to rules between schools and clubs and the branches not focussing enough on clubs and non-elite schools.

elite in this being defined as traditional schools cup contenders

14 years since he was a backs coach.

Eddie would be be as bad as Foley I think, Munster would be better off with someone like Bernard Jackman, a very astute and technical coach. They'll always be a side with enough leaders to make the need of an inspirational coach minimal, direction and precision is what they need now and the guy who had the best squad in the 6 nations in '06 and '07 failing to win the thing isn't the right guy to have. A coach who has established a relatively poorly funded Grenoble in the top 14 fits the bill perfectly.

Can't say I look at the team sheet and think "Wow, look at all those leaders", definitely not with POM out.

Don't want to say Foley is blameless but that Munster side looks short of top quality and there's something of a black hole at 10.

Ok in Ireland at Dec 2014. There's a 186000 registered players in rugby.

Regards the Munster academy. It's funded by the Supporters club and doesn't take from schools directly. The use clubs and look at Leinster schools too. Roscrea school is in Leinster Schools for example dispite it being located in Munster.
If you had done research regards Munster you'd see schools argue opposite side that there's too much put in to the rural clubs in Clare, Limerick and Kerry. Schools rugby is gone way down in terms of standard and isn't seen as a benchmark to get in to academies. Politics have crept in and the Cork/Limerick crap. Munster used to be based strongly on using the AIL but the academy model has kind of ruined this as has the B&I cup for us. As I said it's easy blame just a flawed system but it is deep rooted. I agree coaching is an issue but that is IRFU taking cheaper options all over.
Leinster and Ulster have realised that too.
