I was at an AIDS convension yesterday as part of a -make the workplace better- thing. 76% of the black population think that AIDS is caused by white people, that put the disease in the drinking water around the townships. This is also the reason why the poverish still prefer to fetch water from dirty rivers to get cholera instead. I could'nt believe it.

Government needs to do something fast. These poor people have no one to tell them right from wrong. It's so sad.

I once heard that some people believe that by having sex with a virgins, they will get rid of AIDS. Apparantly 6 month old babies have been raped because of that. I hope that the person telling me that was misinformed.

Nah its true I remember seeing something about that happening on tv. Apparently there were docters telling people that this was a way of getting rid of aids. Absolutely disgusting to think that some people would resort to such a retarded method is beyond belief. Both the rapists and Docters giving out this advice deserve to die in the slowest and most painful way possible.

I wouldnt have a clue, after watching that section of the documentury I changed the channel. That **** was too deppressing for me to continue to watch. I'm a cold person but for a human being not to find that disturbing is something I couldnt possibly comprehend

Those would be witch doctors (I think the accepted term is traditional healers), a couple of years ago the government passed a bill to recognise them as "medical practitioners".
One of the cons of democracy unfortunately... What do you do if the majority of voters are daft?
Like recently the shutting down of the Scorpions (SA's specialist police unit), people were asked on their views as apparently majority of South Africans want them to be disband and one person said 'They must be shutdown because they don't come and help me in my shack'. That's the equivalent of the FBI being called to get a kitten out of a tree...
Coincidently the the very same police unit that has the future president by the balls, and has already sent the person who gave the bribe to him to 15 years in prison.

And that's only the tip of the iceberg.

I read on my calendar (it's one of those free things they give at the bank, each days mentions something "interesting/trivial/newsworthy", and August 30 reads "In Thailand two women receive a 1060 year jail sentence each for fraude at work"
I could be mistaken, but isn't Thailand known for it's child prositution? (Among other things naturall)
