Lol must admit I've never actually seen Henson play other than the game for Lions vs Southland where he looked alright, based that purely on what has been said about him, and the general reaction to him reminded me of how Spencer was treated at times while in NZ (if you couldn't pick it --> fan of King Carlos)
David is saying this as he is a white guy who has black hair, often styled into a Henson-like do (usually a spiked pointed fringe). :p He plays in mid-field (like Henson) and is a utility (like Henson). I have often thought he was gay (like Henson) (jokes). :p Although Dave's gayness can be counted on a scale of 1 to 10, (unlike Henson).

He has a hit and miss goal-kicking record (like Henson). :bravo:

His girlfriend has big eyes and is involved with music (like Henson). [/b]
See Craig, I told you that david likes Henson more than me.

As for you making him my desktop screen, just stay the hell out of my room!

Plus Henson has more hair than you andrew

I bet thats why he doesn't want to see him on his screen.

I think Henson is like the villain of a movie, no-one likes him much, but he's there for the entertainment?

Ok, i have to stand up for my boys when they get bulied so ruthlessly.
I need to ask these few questions:

1) As far as his professional career is concerned, what has he done ON THE FIELD that warrants him being on the WOS?
2) How does his social life get him on there? The media love him. Granted he doesn't try to hide from it, but why should he be blamed for that? So what if you found out that the worlds greatest rugby player had some "alternative" hobbies? What if he was into bondage and weird rituals and it was publicised? It woud be his life and he would be entitled to it.

I think you're just angry that he's being labelled a superstar by the media (a ***le he DIDN'T give himself, funnily enough) because he's not done anything to warrant being on the Wall Of Fame.

He's not done anything to be called a Great.
But he's certainly not done anything to guarantee himself a place on the WOS.

Kaftka's "reasons" are not only petty, worthying themselves of no merit whatsoever, but they are so juvenille that it really makes you lost respect for anything he has to post in the future.

As much as you'd hate to hear it, Henson is a pretty solid lad. He can take care of himself and he can bully plenty of other players around the field.
I don't want to have to remind of the time he treated poor Tait like a human ManBag, so i won't go there, but for adhering to what is fast becoming a Metrosexual culture in the Western Society i don't see where you have the right to claim he lacks manliness.

I can't believe i actually have to argue a case for what Henson does off the field. So it's publicised? Big deal. I don't really care. If he plays well that's all that matters.
I couldn't care less if any other rugby player was scrutinised in the same manner.

I'm not about to go and put Johnny Wilkinson on the WOS because he's living off a drop goal he made 3 years ago and has been hiding behind injuries ever since, am i?

I feel that claiming your nomination for Gav to be put on the WOS is (thankfully) invalid as your "reasons" aren't actually reasons, but infact are personal vendetta's against the man in question.

I think this could all have been quite funny had so mnay people not been so venemous and spiteful towards Gavin. There's just no respect for him like that.

Haven't been around long have you. My advice is don't always take everything you read on here as ultra serious. And don't insult Official TRF Ledgends ™.

No, i haven't been around long, but i tried reading my way through all of hte WOS's and this one (which inspired the English one) seemed really harsh.
If i have, in some way, mispercieved what was originally being said; if i mistook humour for scathing sinicism forgive me.
But if i'm not allowed to challenge the words of a fellow poster then where does this leave this forum.

I do, however, apologise if any offence was taken by kaftka, i stepped over the line on a remark regarding him.
I just got quite infuriated by the narrow mindedness that was being posted about Henson.
If applicable, i shall from now on, take things like this with a pinch of salt.

Seriously though, your actually right. It's good to have some new points of view.

I don't really care if you choose to defend Henson (I wouldn't personally :p ), I just think a lot of the stuff was quite tongue in cheek and exaggerated. Someone has to play devil's advocate though ;)

Kaftka won't take offense, he hasn't been around in a while. But he is in the TRF Legends Hall of Fame section. You'll learn to love him...

Ok, i'm starting to learn a bit more about this website now. :D
All i have to do now is have Henson prove you guys wrong by playing well on the field.

...it just seems he's forgotten how to play well since having a storming season for the Ospreys back in 04/05. :wall:

I certainly wouldn't put him onto the wall of shame...he a great player with a supreme amount of confidence. Good luck to him, if he likes to think he looks the part then good luck to him...if companies want to give him cash on the back of that then who are we to complain.

I think he's been badly advised over some of the quotes that are attributed to him but he's young and the media are all over him.

He's never really done enything that bad.

SB

Well, he is a rat ******* for getting off a driving ban "because of his charity work".

pfffffffffffffffffft.

Okay...but APART from getting off a driving ban "because of his charity work"...what's Gavin Henson ever done for us?

THAT, however, does grind my gears.
He pleads guilty and asks for leniance on his punishment because any lengthy driving ban will affect him when he helps childrens charities.
He's not gonna be doing anything with kids charities for the next month anyway, the bloke's got autumn internationals!
Jeez!

If I pleeded guilty for driving that speed I'd be locked up and have my lisence taken away for 12 months or 2 years. He gets away with it because "he's Gavin Henson". Double f***ing standards.

THAT grinds my gears.

Are you seriously saying that it's because he's "Gavin Henson" or that it's because he's a celebrity who's done the odd spot of charity work?

Lets face it, any famous person who's done a little (or is about to do some) charity work would've got the same result.

Just come out and say that you hate Gavin Henson. Thats the truth. Not because he got off with this punishment.

Or prehaps say you hate everyone famous who ever got off with anything. Then hate yourself for all those times in life where you took advantage where it was there for the taking, (we all do it).

I don't like Gavin Henson, but I love things in perspective. :D

Doesn't matter if it's Henson or any odher D list celeb. He got away with that because his face is always in the papers. The rest of us would pick up a driving ban on possibly get locked up for driving over a ton.

How exactly is that not in perspective?

I'm saying that, yes, he should have been punished, no question. Although you seem to have a beef with Gavin Henson, that is the real issue.

If it came down to you hating what he got away with only, then you'd hate all the celebrity's who've gotten off with stuff. That would be the issue.

Prehaps you'd of said something like "Henson is a complete twat! Never should've gotten off that driving ban! Just anthor famous person using their public image to get off with something, again!"

That'd be talking about the whole issue. The only piece of that can of worms you like is Henson. I, in some ways agree with you for not liking him, but the issue of abuse of status is open to more than Gavin.

Like debating with you, Teh. Stuff like this gives others something to talk about!

South Wales Evening Paper (SWEP):
""The average punishment for speeding at over 100mph can range from 28 to 56 days' disqualification."

It doens't sound like anyone would have gone to jail for doing that speed in a car, but by God if i wouldn't have had 56 days' disqualification, half a dozen points on my license and a bastarding huge fine to pay as well.
