Gatland - Rugbys answer to Alex Ferguson

The difference being Fergie can back his moaning up through his massive success. Gatland still has a long way to go on that front.

Yup, always disliked a moaning coach. Wales weren't good enough, full stop. having a penalty for that high tackle wouldn't have resulted in Wales winning. I know it's annoying that Carter wasn't penalised, as it was blatantly high (swinging arm aswell), but that's how these things go.

Gatland does have a point abotu ref's possibly not wanting to be involved in a big upset. But that's not for him to say. He should concentrate on Wales' performance, which was below par imo.

Gatland has been *****ing all week about how the AB's have lost their "aura", and how Wales should cause an upset and now that Wales lost he is hardly being gracious in defeat. Because of Gatland's attitude of late, I am pleased Henry was reinstated, as Henry holds himself with alot more composure. In my opinion Gatland's attitude is embarissing for a Wales outfit that clearly has alot of talent.

Interestingly if referees were awarding 50/50 calls consistantly to New Zealand, then why is it we wern't awarded Comrad Smith's try? I mean there was evidence he crossed the line and grounded the ball, but because the footage wasn't conclusive the referees gave Wales the benafit of the doubt that the ball had been held up. This complaining from Gatland has left a bit of a bitter taste in a game which I thought was entertaining to watch, and showcased how much Wales has advanced over the last 12 months.

I don't believe it. I just came on here to start exactly the same topic.

Meh I agree. His comments are starting to get on my nerves, even if we have shown massive improvement under him. If 50 -50 calls don;t go your way then that's a lot to do with luck sometimes, you just have to deal with it, as it's all part of the game. Personally I don't think Conrad Smith scored, as Shane did a very good job of making sure the ball was off the ground, but I don;t think Carter should have been sin binned. I mean it was a penalty, but it wasn;t the worst high tackle I've seen. I doubt Carter went into the tackle trying to take his head off, he was obviously going for the man and ball, and was just off-target with it.
Well played by the All Blacks though, you guys seem to be still just too good for us. :bravo: <_<
