It’s going to hurt for awhile - Ireland 2024

I like that. Can't read the article but is there any scope for playing these games outside of the usual venues? Bringing it outside of Dublin, Limerick, Belfast, Cork and Galway would be great.
The championship gets underway on 16 November with Leinster A visiting the Connacht Eagles at Creggs RFC, with the IRFU keen for local clubs to host these games.

The following weekend, Ulster welcome Munster to Ballymacaran Park, home of Ballynahinch RFC, while Leinster will host Connacht at Terenure RFC's home ground of Lakelands.

New Ormond Park, where Nenagh Ormond RFC recently opened their new artificial surface, will be the venue for Munster's clash with Ulster at the end of November, with further venues and exact dates to be confirmed.

Massive **** off to Lakelands, dirty, evil place.

Got the worst concussion of my life in Creggs, great memories.

Porter, Kelleher, Furlong / Bealham, Big Joe, Beirne, POM, VdF, Doris, JGP, Crowley, Lowe, Aki, Ringrose, Hansen, Keenan

Healy, Herring, Bealham / Clarkson, Ryan, Prendergast, Murray, Prendergast, Osborne

Probably what I go for on Friday. Fix a few things that were an issue with selection, we really lack any dawg without POM, but give most the opportunity at redemption.

Henderson and Frawley don't deserve to be thrown straight back in though.

So the Jack Crowley v Sam Prendergast debate is here. I think this forum can keep it more civil than elsewhere.

We need to use them as a duo for the next 8+ years, it's as healthy a position we've been in at 10 ever really. ROG and Sexton were too different and both worked best in very different systems. That's not an issue for these two, they both like to play ball on the front foot and can both play in imperfect conditions.

Currently, Crowley is the only option to start big games and I'd continue with him this week. He's in a slump but seems to be coming out of it with Ireland, his first half was excellent v Argentina before going back into his shell in the third quarter. Fiji is not a game for Prendergast to start, they'll go head hunting like they did whenever Carbery played against them. Keep Prendo on the bench the next two weeks and put him into Leinster, it's the perfect way for him to learn and be successful with the sheer amount of experience he'll have around him this year. With JGP, Henshaw, Ringrose, Jordie B, Osborne, Keenan and Lowe around him in any game he'll play, there's no reason to continue with Frawley who is a limited 10 (this isn't reactionary for me, I've never been convinced that Frawley is that guy). Build Sam into a starting 10 for this time next year and make the call then based on how Crowley goes in his next 5-8 tests and possibly a mid-weeker on a Lions tour which would be great for him like Murray in 2013.

I think Sam will eventually be the starter, his skills are immaculate and he has shown he's able to run the multi-phase that elevates us. He needs to be more comfortable with the physicality off the ball and hone the multi-phase with Leinster though.

I'm excited. Play the cards right and I think we could have international class Mo'unga and Sexton dupes, if one or both can make the step up to world class after that, we'll remain a top 4 side with quality to beat anyone in the right type of game. Bring some props through in the next three years and we can be world cup contenders again, that's a less certain pathway however. I think we'll be ok at 9, JGP will get to the next world cup like Aaron Smith last year, wonderful.

Casper Gabriel on his way too. Too early to say for him and I've only seen amateur clips but we could be looking at having 3 10s aged 27, 24 and 21/22 at the next world cup. What a time for Irish rugby.

I would go as strong as we can for Fiji this year based on guys who will be available in the 2026 six nations. My selection would be:

Porter, Kelleher, Bealham / Furlong, Beirne, McCarthy, Prendergast, VdF, Doris, JGP, Crowley, Lowe / Stockdale, Henshaw, Ringrose, Hansen, Keenan / Osborne

Boyle, McCarthy, Clarkson, Ryan, Timony / Izuchukwi, Casey, Prendergast, Keenan / Osborne

The sub front row is very low on experience so I wouldn't be angry at a more experienced line up but a bit of revolution might be needed here right now.

On Prendergast vs Crowley debate. Form should dictate who starts to a degree. And I am not on about now but over time. Sam P will be the starting 10 at Leinster but we can't have a case where he is being pushed to be starting 10 for Ireland but still behind Ross Byrne for Leinster.
Fiji will be a mixed team as Aus are an opponent again. We will beat them but they will be tougher than Fiji and lets remember lads need a rest in Nov as straight after internationals comes 2 European games and 2 interprovincials.

Frontrow needs to be addressed though and will be a big test.

I think Sam is ahead of RB now. He was away for the EI tour but went straight ahead of him for the Lions game when available again.

Frawley is the next in the sights and I hope Leo pulls the trigger this December.

But that is what is needed like if Sam is challenging for Ireland he should be #1 for Leinster.

I know he was away with EI and I know we can't judge really what the pecking order is and even come December I think RB will start Europe simply as Sam has been with Ireland for the month but will be a case of let him just get that shirt. And look we all know it is when not if.

RB is leaving, he isnt going to be starting in europe, unless there is a raft of injuries.
I think he starts December just as Prendergast has missed so much Leinster time between EI tour and Nov but that is the transition time. RB still ahead of Harry and Frawley as a starting 10

Frawley has started ahead of him at every opportunity this year.

I dont agree.. Frawley starts or Prendergast.
If I'm wrong then that is good. I do think Prendergast will be starter just the fact he will have missed last 7 of last 8 weeks or something like that with Leinster might make Leo conservative.
