Anscombe, surely - at this stage, every cap of introduced experience, every 5 minutes of knowledge of each others' game, counts.
If you've got a chance to inject a club partnership, with a tonne of caps, playing in good form, into the spine of the team - take it!

I know depth was an issue in some positions which did affect us, but that is some side, and shouldn't have been brushed aside so easily by NZ every time we played them, and should have been regularly beating SA and Aus, and properly challenging for the WC. 2011 was probably the year, and one of the few times where we played some genuinely good stuff behind with an attacking 10 pulling the strings in Priestland.

Well, playing an hour with 14 men in a one point semi can't be laid at Gatland's door. Who knows what might have happened if Warbs had stayed on?

You're probably right, in fact I just said something similar to my brother just now. Knowing our luck they'll both get injured this weekend.

Vague memory and obviously much less vivid than it would be for a Wales fan, but I thought they looked oddly under prepared for knockout rugby. Didn't Jones dither over taking drop goal attempts? The kind of thing you'd expect a Gatland team to have intensely drilled in.

Jarrod Evans Gareth Anscombe, and centre Max Llewellyn confirmed as called up by the beeb.

Evans has been really poor the last couple times I saw him for Quins,
Probably shouldn't make the 23 really,
Anscombe and Llewellyn should be straight in to start

He'll fit right in then.

Joking aside, I've only seen a handful of games this season and he's looked decent. Not doubting you obviously as I've not seen him and I've heard of some things here and there that's he's not pulling up trees but considering our options it's a no brainer.

He definitely started the season well, just recently I've felt like he's dropped - like you said though, he's still a classy operator so probably still worth a call up

I also have to remind myself that I watch every URC fixture that involves a Welsh region so when I do get a chance to watch Quins, or any random under 12 team, I can get carried away due to my reference point being so low.
