Due to a late irregular bad mean tackle by Lawes on Parra during the pointless European Challenge Cup final, the injured Parra won't be able to play the summer tests with France.[/b]

Lol.

Just to check, you are being ironic/sarcastic/generally amusing?
[/b][/quote]

Yup.
Sucks that Parra is out though

Martin at lock might not be such a bad idea. He's not good enough to play #7 but we need his mongrel and aggressivity in the rucks and in defense.

The starting XV might look somethinng like that

Barcella Szar Mas
Chabal Millo
Dusautoir Picamoles Bonnaire

Dupuy Trinh Duc

Heymans Jauzion Bastareaud Rougerie
Medard

Skrela out due to knee injury, Beauxis in. He'll give the AB's some good Cardiff memories I guess.
For those who aren't familiar with the guy, he's basically a walking boot. But what a boot he is.

There is some justice in this world after all... :bravo: :D

I really don't know what to expect from this French side... lots of hope and lots of doubts are coming in the same package... Will be interesting to see how Bastareaud cope with Mills (best NZ back imo) and how Mills cope with Bastareaud deadly tackles (ask Jamie Roberts and Tom Shanklin)

I would go for something like 25-15 for NZ...

Frit has not taken off with the rest of the team, his passport was no more valid... He will fly next week with the finalists.

I was in the same mood until I saw last week's semi final against Perpignan. But after the terrible match he had I'd feel tempted to have Jauzion with Mermoz, who had a cracker.

Rougerie and Bonnaire would not fly to NZ, they would play this evening final thanks to infiltration but would not tour. Harinodoquy and Bonnaire are with Dussautoir the best French backrowers but only this latter will play NZ.

I'd say Mathieu Bastereaud's main focus would be trying to nullify Ma'a Nonu (and possibly Isaia Toeava at 13) with his "deadly tackles". Probably the two biggest centers in the game today, should be a bruising midfield battle.

Indeed.... Mermoz looks like the real good surprise (the only one?) to expect from this summer tour... If he can reproduce the form he had this season in TOP 14.... hmmm :)

Mermoz is not a surprise for me. I expected and still do from this player who was playing in the shadow of the stars of Toulouse.
SF semi final was the first deadly black day for Bastareaud, who shined and was the surprise of this year (both in Paris and France teams). This tour will be the occasion to see his mental and his ability to restart after a big counterperformance in a key match

So finally Rougerie and Bonnaire won't be flying to New Zealand, supposedly due to minor injuries. Not sure though, I'm guessing the result of the top 14 final has something to do with it.
They are replaced by Arias (Stade Français) and Puricelli (Bayonne). As a Paris fan I'm delighted Arias makes a selection, but so gutted Rougerie finally won't go, given the awesome year he had.
One great Arias try, a bit old but gives an idea of what the guy can do : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1lAWlm8eTM

So here's the final group :

Forwards: Thomas Domingo (Clermont), Nicolas Mas (Perpignan), Fabien Barcella (Biarritz), Dimitri Szarzewski (Stade Français), William Servat (Stade Toulousain), Guilhem Guirado (Perpignan), Sylvain Marconnet (Stade Français), Rémy Martin (Bayonne), Sébastien Chabal (Sale/ANG), Romain Millo-Chluski (Stade Toulousain), Pascal Papé (Stade Français), Louis Picamoles (Montpellier), Damien Chouly (Perpignan), Fulgence Ouedraogo (Montpellier), Thierry Dusautoir (Stade Toulousain), Julien Puricelli (Bayonne)

Backs: Julien Dupuy (Leicester/ANG), Dimitri Yachvili (Biarritz), Lionel Beauxis (Stade Français), François Trinh-Duc (Montpellier), Yannick Jauzion (Stade Toulousain), Florian Fritz (Stade Toulousain), Mathieu Bastareaud (Stade Français), Florian Fritz (Stade Toulousain), Maxime Mermoz (Perpignan), Alexis Palisson (Brive), Damien Traille (Biarritz), Cédric Heymans (Stade Toulousain), Vincent Clerc (Stade Toulousain), Julien Arias (Stade français), Maxime Médard (Stade Toulousain)

The defections of Rougerie and Bonnaire had already leaked last week. It looks like they have many "small" injuries.

So the XV players to face the ABs next saturday in Dunedin are:

Médard (Stade Toulousain) - Clerc (Stade Toulousain), Bastareaud (Stade Français), Traille (Biarritz), Heymans (Stade Toulousain) - (o) Trinh-Duc (Montpellier), (m) Dupuy (Leicester/ANG) - Ouedraogo (Montpellier), Picamoles (Montpellier), Dusautoir (Stade Toulousain, cap) - Millo-Chluski (Stade Toulousain), Papé (Stade Français) - Marconnet (Stade Français), Servat (Stade Toulousain), Barcella (Biarritz)

Subs: Szarzewski (Stade Français), Mas (Perpignan), Domingo (Clermont), Chabal (Sale/ANG), Martin (Bayonne), Puricelli (Bayonne), Yachvili (Biarritz), Jauzion (Stade Toulousain), Palisson (Brive)

Most choices seem logical, a pretty strong side. Now whatever the players, we'll need to be in one of "those" days to beat the blackness in Dunedin.

it's great to see Clerc back in the French squad...[/b]
Yeah, Clerc is a perfect player. Dupuy might get shown up - he's sparky for Leicester, but not international standard.

Could be interesting. France are a bit confused as a team, the ABs have a lot of confused S14 players.

What's Barcella like? Can't remember him for Biarritz. And what happened with Beauxis? I thought he was in for Skrela.

Channel for the match in UK?

Sky at 8.30 Saturday morning Shtove, Australia/Italy at 10.30 and Lions/Western Province at 1.30

A pretty much full strength French side on a summer tour? Awesome! Should be a great game, if are ever going to beat New Zealand in New Zealand, it will be against a NZ side without McCaw and Carter.

Bastareaud V Nonu - should be immense!

I'm in Argentina at the moment and I was wondering, do you guys have any good tip for watching games online? Justin.tv is great but sometimes it doesn't work. Do youknow any other website?

Fantastic game! Excellent win for France.

Was hoping to see a bit more of Nonu and Bastareaud though.

All Blacks - Mils, Weepu and Jane looked class, Donald and Toeva looked average.

France - Fantastic team effort, Medard was MoM for adding the touch of class.
