Long and Cunningham have retired from internationals mate.[/b]

shows how much i mix in league circles!

ok, Roby to start instead of Cunningham and put Sam Burgess on interchange.

and super kyle eastmond as a super sub too.

I think Eastmond will miss the cut this time but he'll be there soon.

Not too sure on some of the forward spots. Probably go to St George and Manly players.

Is Slater so bad at full back he's a winger now? I thought it was an unwritten rule that all Aussie full backs ended up at 6 or 7 anyhow!

Well Slater started off on the wing for Queensland and Australia, and he's still a good fullback but Jarryd Hayne has been absolutely sensational there for Paramatta. Otherwise with 20 tries a piece maybe one of the Morris twins deserve a crack. I forgot about Michael Jennings as well, there has to be room for him in the 17.

He's a horrific fullback. He's a winger, plain and simple. I rate Jarrod Hayne very highly, for me he should be the Aussie full back every time. It is an impressive looking backline, I have to agree. Still think they can be bested in the forwards though.

Is it fair Hayne plays for Australia considering he's already played for Fiji?

He played for Australia first anyway.

All seems rather farcical, this tooing and froing between countries. Next thing you know they'll be staging world cups every (insert number that isn't 4) years and putting all the good teams in one group.... oh.

I've only become properly interested in League in the last year or so; can someone tell me if there is a League iRB and if so, why is International League such a shambles compared to the club game which is very well run??

Ermmm Gingermeggs, what aspects of the rugby league's world governing body aren't run well? Nothing much is done because not enough countries are competitive enough and there is a lack of funds. All this and more comes down to the fact that it isn't as popular as the likes of Soccer and Rugby Union. AAAAANNNYYYWAYYY, the governing body is called the RLIF (Rugby League International federation).

On another subject now, Trent Waterhouse should partner Sam Thaiday in the back/2nd row with Anthony "I'm a thug and pretty dumb one at that" Watmough" packing in at lock. Cameron Smith is the obvious choice for hooker along with Shane Webke and Glen Lazarus in the front row. If Webby and Lazo fail, then I'd say the tried and tested old workhorse Petero Civenoceiva/"Fridge or a Freezer"/"Petrol Seventy Cents a Litre" should partner a prop who stands out in the finals series. Ben Hannant or Luke Baily seem to be front runners.

It can all be traced back to the Nazi's and the French RFU trying to kill league in World War 2. EVERYTHING that goes wrong with league is always because of that... or so the kind folks on the leagueunlimited forums told me... oh, and the ARU is trying to kill off league by buying NRL players, but it was ok for League to do it for 100 years leading up to Union turning pro in 1995.

I don't know... how about, everything associated with the whole federation, the only worse run organisations in the world were the New Zealand Rugby League and the 1986 Chernobyl safety board.

The world cup is only being held in 5 years time to get out of the world cup cycle. After that they will be held regularly. Yeah, league has the Rugby League International Federation (RLIF). If you want to know how good they are look at their website http://www.rlif.org/. The RLEF (Rugby League European Federation dso a lot more work to promote the game http://www.rlef.eu.com/.

As Melon mentioned, with a small International scene like League's, the ability to play for more than one country is actually integral for the sport's international success until it can find it's feet on a global stage. Union is widespread and grass roots in many places, so the international scene is very strong. With League, for a long time it was just Australia and Great Britain. The sport was not spread. PNG took it up as their national sport but they aren't a big country with a large talent pool like the Aussies or poms, and they don;t have the economical resources to make themselves a threat on the world stage. Thankfully New Zealand picked it up and now France are pushing the boat out.

When League has actual global spread (we're talking about a sport here which is barely national in both Australia and England, nevermind the world) then the laws on representing countries should be changed. Until then they are needed to keep the international scene growing, which it has been at a much faster rate the last 10 or so years.

Also, more importantly, if Hayne had been tied to Australia and not allowed to represent Fiji whilst Slater was on fire, we'd have never have seen his monster hit on Lockyer. And we can all admit that it would be criminal to have not been able to see that.

That back line is scary. Plain scary. I'll wager the continued hard-on for the Bulldogs' forwards will see them taking unwarranted places. I'd like to see Stewart on the interchange. Even with limited game time he's been a monster. Hopefully he'll play a good game for Manly (whilst still losing to the Storm) to keep his name in the running.
