Four Nations Thread

yer saw something with like highlights, but had to watch France v Wales on internet.... with french commentary. Now that was fun, and without a doubt interesting :p :p hahaha can't wait to play RLL now... grrrrrrrr come out already

9 days

Wales have a lot of work to do in terms of their playing game but being exposed to the big three is the only way they will learn and improve.

Yes, Wales have now qualified for the 2011 4 Nations, which will be in the UK. And fair play to them as well, they have kept on improving and although, with all due respect, they are going to get smashed up and down by Australia and the Kiwis next year, there's only one way to get better. I like the idea of another team having to qualify to get to the tournament as it fosters a more competitive nature.

Back to the farce this morning, for every bit as bad as England were, the Kiwis were excellent. Benji Marshall has long since been my favourite non-SL player and he was immense today, but why didn't we move up to him? We're just not good enough in every department. I am feared of what Australia are going to do to us next week.

Early start again for Aussies vs. PNG. Looking forward to that.

I loved those French Commentators, they were very neutral to both teams :)

The Aussies hammered PNG 42-0 this morning in a massively one sided game. There was only ever going to be one winner but to be fair to them, they're still learning about how to compete at this level and it shows.

I'm surprised Aus didn't get more points to be honest, they're head and shoulders above everyone else in League.

Just watched the highlights for the NZ/Eng match, though it's a disappointing result, Englands trys were good and there was some encouraging play. Just read that Shenton is out for the rest of the 4N with an ankle injury, which is a big blow after just seeing his break against NZ for the 2nd try

Bugger England, it's a big blow for Saints! Our injury curse strikes again and he's not even pulled the shirt on yet!

Was expecting a far bigger loss than 34-14, and but for some downright bent officiating from Archer and Clark, we might actually have gone far closer. But the gap is huge, make no doubt about that.

What has happened to League in England Dan? It seems like it's been consigned to obscurity... every English person I've spoken to tells me no one watches it over there.

Is it growing at all? Over here Union has been declining pretty badly while League has gotten ever more powerful.

It's growing as usual, but the problem is in the coaching. Our forwards are probably the equal to yours, which is why you're seeing the likes of Burgess and Ellis appearing and flourishing in the NRL. It's 1-7 where the problems are manifesting themselves. The youngsters are being coached how to be powerful, and not skilful.

international rugby league is pretty farcical... some of the mistakes PNG made were embarrassing. As for England, they're not good enough either. Australia scored 3 tries that shouldn't have been, but half the England team looks out of their depth.

I get the impression that Australia could pick a 3rd XIII and still school England. We really need to send more players to the NRL if we want to compete internationally - otherwise scrap the whole idea and focus on Super League which is a quality competition.

agreeds. Atkins and Cudjoe looked out of their league against Aus, and I'm always impressed with both when I see them in Super League. Jury's still out on Shenton as well.

The way I see it, we've got some lovely players when fit and on form - Eastmond, Tomkins, Pryce, Burrow; but no one that I can think of who's good enough in the centres, and besides Ryan Hall, no wingers either. There was no Hayne, Inglis, Hodges or Thurston (or even Folau) in that Aussie backline but they absolutely schooled us still.

That's the scary thing, this is supposedly the weakest Aussie side in years!

Kangaroos played well tonight and look good to take the final next week.

Word is that they're putting Tonga, Lockyer et al back next week... but to be honest I that this supposed "B-Team" were actually better than the incumbents of last week. Carney seemed to add more spark to the attack, while Boyd played out of his skin

Kiwis have a great chance next week. I can feel it.
