Final Preview: Leicester Tigers v Saracens

Superb match lads, Both teams were really going for it.

Sarries scrum really cost them and well after going in front they lost concentration a bit and it showed

Woo! (Can I woo here?)

Hell of a match,
Was really expecting it to be pretty dull, and be decided with penalties/divisible by 3, but lots of trys and just generally good match

So did I, was really not expecting the first try to be from a Tigers back.

Geordan again leaving the lifting of the trophy to departing Leicester legends. :)

Best game I went to all season. What a shame about the result. Tigers edged it in the scrum, and like the Irish, they were very clinical. Saracens were far more creative, so hats off to the Tigers' defemce for only conceding twice. Deserved winners, but we'll have fun in the HEC next year.

Hats off to Justin Marshall who ended a fine career in one of the biggest games club rugby has to offer.

And also, most underrated unit of the season = Saracens back 3. Goode and Wyles have been perfect all season, and Tagicakibau was excellent today, Cato was great this season too.

That just the way Geordan is no bullsh*t just does his job on the pitch (and does it well) and likes to leave the limelight to others then.
He is truly an undervalued member of Irish squad and well glad to see Tigers value his as he is a smashing player.

Murphy shoud be used far more by the Irish I agree for most of last season they just used Kearney. The Irish thought Murphy would not be need for along time. He played very Irleand when Kearney injured during the 6N (and to say he had only just come back form injury). He is a very skillful player and does the basics very well. He is also a very smart Captain. Many beleive if he wasn't hit with big injuries he would be just as good or better than BOD.

Just got back from Margate. Went to the final and then to Margate.

SOOOOO CLOSE! Very proud of Sarries. Probably the best most epic final ever.

That is all!

theres a man with some good gorey blood in him :p

Don't get ahead of yourself. Murphy is a very good club player, an excellent broken field runner, with solid kicking and high ball games. However, his major weakness that are found out at international level - such as his Nick Abendanon- esque mastery of tackling.

+1.

I'll like Murphy. He's a very talented player and a brilliant pro. He never really recovered from that horror injury he had against Scotland a good few years back but that said, he's carved out a pretty sensational career. His defence is really exposed at the international stage. That try France got in Croker back in '07 springs to mind.

If only we could have somehow combined him and Girv the Swerve....sigh.

Oh, it was a great game by the way. Far better than the ML final.

Agreed that he has weakness but most players do like Kearney was poor for alot of this season and when Murphy came in he did a superb job (after returning from a lengthy injury)

And we all know if Geordan was English he'd be a fixture in the 15 shirt so I would rate him alot higher than a very good club player.

would he even with Foden there? without Foden he would i mean he plays for Leicester.

he wouln't be a fixture at all for England. Throughout his career, we've had Perry, Lewsey and Robinson as fullbacks who were all outstanding. 2008-9 had Armitage on form, and on form Delon is a much better player. Now we have Foden who's been the best 15 in the Premiership this season. Were he English, Murphy would have definitely got a few caps, but never been a regular. Same for Dempsey.
