what about that japan player Ohata? hes really fast

yeah on Rugby. probs not so fast in real life
Nah he is pretty fast, he is the record top try scorer in international rugby after all, in his prime was pretty fast

He's international top try scorer only because he played against teams like Thailand, Korea etc. But yep he was still pretty fast.

Tomorrows game could be good for seeing some of the fastest players,Habana,Chavanga and Williams all on the same pitch, Jones is quick as well B)

There was a young winger contracted to the western force who run an official speed of 10.32 for the 100m - Brett Stapleton was his name. I read That Chavanga did a 10.22 and Habana a 10.45. will post the link if I can remember. But agree that whats important is that first 25m rather than full 100

Yeah, wonder who accelerates faster than anyone... Shane Williams is my bet.

david smith is pretty quick off the mark.

Think a few guys are actually quite at the same speed. But what sets Habana apart is the things he can do while at speed, e.g. think, then do accurately. When he chips, you know it's gonna be a try.

Habana is fast but the question is, does he have the side step to add to make the difference when going up one on one.

Caucau i know when he was in his prime was awesum to watch, as well as other players like cullen,

everyone knows habana is the fastest runner, i mean come on, he raced a cheetah

I can race a cheetah too. Will that make me the fastest player? It was a charity event, do you honestly think he thought he could beat it? I hope not. Anyway, a pretty off form Tonderai Chavhanga is the fastest RUGBY UNION player in the world, playing today. Followed closely by fellow Zimbabwean Takudzwa Ngwenya.

Definitely Habana. It would be interesting to see them all side by side in a 100m sprint :)

I think Habana might not be the fastest player in world rugby but it's what he does with his speed that makes him so lethal. When Habana plays he always goes full tack whether its a intercept, runaway or chase. Tonderai Chavagna is no doubt very quick but he hardly ever utilises it so doesn't get as much recognition.

I reckon players like Jason Robinson, Shane Williams are all quick off the mark and have decent top speed but if we're talking over 30m thats when other players would probably be faster.

surely being quick off the mark equates to 30m times...
