European Champions Cup Quater Final Saracens v Racing Metro

To be fair Owens did warn Racing the ruck before the penalty to stay on their feet, Racing failed to do so. Racing should have cleared the ball instead off messing about with it within kicking range.

I let you rewatch the match and see how many situation like this there has been all the match and how many times Owens gave a penalty...Anyway, you are not objective.

Owens does not like England but he likes even less France, do not know why, always been like this with him...England France was a good example of this.

Anyway, Saracens are quite bad and Racing just handed them the game overall (this knock on of imhoff OMG), they will lose in semi-final, no chance against clermont or toulon...At least, this result will permit to English rugby to not finish entirely naked at clubs level on the european scene

Wow... and to say that we have no chance vs Clermont, a team we've beaten 2 out of 3 times in the last year is just stupid. We played poorly today, with too many stupid errors and probably didn't deserve to go through but stop whinging and being so biased. Owens was fine, it was a close game which could have gone either way.

Sure he just handed you guys the match, no wonder why he was fine...Racing was superior to Saracens without doubt today, you have been extremely lucky (this almost done try that Imhoff just knocked on for example) and helped by Owens just at the end.

Sexton is evidently really unmotivated for R92. He doesn't look up for any match lately. So glad he's going back to Leinster.

Not going to bother arguing further as you clearly are a WUM/very sore loser who isn't going to see sense.

Oh and on the Imhoff drop: a) he wasn't going to make it b) the ref had already called what was a clear forward pass just before

I do not care too much about what you think, I have watched again the action and it is confirming my first impression, total bull**** this penalty, rip off, Owens wanted just to give a penalty to Saracens. There are several similar situations during the match where he is not saying anything...but not on this one, strangely

for Imhoff, I'm not talking about the drop but the almost try where he is making a knock on at 5 meters from the try line.

A: there were three Racing Metro players sealing off.
B: Bosch still had to kick it nearly 50 metres...

Have to say huge credit to Bosch. The pressure and length and he nailed it.

that is a total blatant pen, could argue he should have blown up for sealing off their feet phase before.

Gotta be said, i expected bosch to miss it.
I know he's a good kicker, but i always see long-range specialists as "hit and hope" with a very big boot, rather than particularly accurate.
Fair play to the guy though - he looked incredibly annoyed with himself for a few fumbles earlier on, so not a bad way to attone!

Wait were talking about the penalty at the end of the game? Look at the body language of the player who committed it right after it was given, he knows what he did and may have just cost his team the game. Show me one guy who looks that guilty when they think the ref made the wrong decision at that point in the game.

Hahahaha I can't believe there's people disputing that penalty. Was so blatant - half the damn pack was off its feet on top of that ball, Owens had no choice but to give that, especially after the warning.

I didn't catch it until the news earlier on. Had my head in myhands at how brainless they were... Wanted Racing to win and all.

Racing were robbed.

Owens is a joke of a ref time to hang up the boots. He should never be allowed to ref at that level ever again.

Please please please say you're joking...

This is not a case of sour grapes. Im looking at it as a neutral. I couldn't care less about Racing as a toulousain. Im merely commenting on the manner of their exit.

I feel sorry for Racing for getting done like that. That's on top of being stuck with a faggoty 10 they're paying a fortune who never had the decency of turning up for a single league game in order to save himlself for his country. It's sad for them because they have real ambition and 2 excellent coaches. There's no way Dan carter will behave like that.

A good ref is the one that has little bearing on the outcome of a game. That's just my 2 cents worth and Im no Racing fan. Imagine what Racing fans are saying..

The real problem within Racing is that they're kicking coach, or whatever his official role is, cares more about the faggoty 10's country than Racing Metro. Sexton is a winner who has won with every team he has ever played for apart from Racing right back to when he was 16, precedent would most certainly give a conclusion that the problem is with Racing Metro and not Johnny Sexton... Who, had he been on the pitch when they ****ed up would have stopped it because unlike the 15 headless chickens who finished the game would have known that Saracens aren't a side who'll score a 100m try and pin them back in the corner! To blame one player for a team's troubles is incredibly naive, one eyed and plain wrong.

like I said I won't stick up for Racing. Not even if u paid me.

Im just reacting to the unfairness of the ref decision because it was so one eyed and plain wrong.

Now Sexton based on his performance for Racing doesnt even make the top 5 outhalves in the league. Hes been average all season showing a complete lack of disrpect to fans and a club that is shelling a fortune for his services.

When youre paid 500K a year the least you can do if you're a true pro with a modicum of self-respect is turn up for your club and put in performances fans will talk about and remember. Racing fans are still waiting. How many Racing fans have you asked. You dont need answer that one.

You dont watch the league like the rest of this forum so your views on his performance is completed one sided as well.

Do you think the same is true of Jamie Roberts?
RE Nigel Owens- not giving the penalty would have been deciding the outcome of the game, he warned them a couple of times at the ruck (which any player with half a brain, would have interpreted as- time kick the ball down field before he is forced to give a decision against us), Racing, and only Racing are to blame for the loss- they should have wrapped up the game long before.
