EOYT: Canada v Samoa, 09/11/2012

Good games from our 8, 9 and 10. I'd probably give MOTM to Tuifua, just dominate in all his exchanges and really set the tone for the team.

Not a bad effort by our youngest on the wing. This is the first time he's played on the wing, he usually plays at 12.

Some of the camera cuts were horrible.

Yes!!! Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this.

Samoa were so clinical today and what a goal kicker. A scalp is looking like it could be on the cards this November.

What was the final score? Missed this one due to watching Canada lose at another sport (Ice Hockey) in Munich. Guessing Samoa were pretty damn good? Always said we were going to need a full strength side for when we play them, especially after the way they played against us in the World Cup...

Missed a few good plays with that head-on view. They should just save those for replays.

Hopefully we get a scalp, we got the team for it. Our goal kicker is pretty impressive, he's got a ridiculous conversion rate - he's also the brother of Rodney So'oialo.

Good luck to you guys in your upcoming matches.

The attendance figure was 2,859.

Sorry to raise an old discussion but surely other options would have got more ...

It's a sham that the IRB bills it as "revolutionary" for Tier 2 nations. While I firmly believe it would be better for the US to be playing Germany, that is nothing compared to the travesty of making Russia play neutral venue tests that they should be playing in Russia.

Is there a complete list of tier 2 fixtures anyway? Because I get the feeling a lot of these countries are in the UK for the duration of the window. There's a lot of sense in terms of cutting travel costs and cutting the amount of long haul flights needed in getting everyone in the UK and keeping them there rather than flying back and forwards.

As someone who is seriously jonesing for some hockey, what game was this and how come I didn't know about? I highly doubt it was even a legitimate representative team because we always smash Germany (those Damn swiss on the other hand.)

Edit: upon further investigation it's the Deutschland cup. Yes Canada lost but that was played with players that aren't professionals in North America. This also does not effect world rankings in any way. Pretty much nhl rejects (case and point nigel dawes.). Good on Germany still, was ehrhoff playing?
Im also bitterly disappointed because hockey on big European ice is so boring and doesn't satisfy the craving.

wasn't waiting for THAT. Dang, it's this Samoa team we've got coming after the Aussies and the Pumas ?...we'll have to be on the lookout.
Well it's cool Canada, you still will always know that you can annihilate Samoa in a hockey game though !

Penny saved, Pound foolish thinking. While indeed money will be saved in the short run, the missed oppourtunity at growing the game in Tier Two countries makes much of this November's schedule a strange choice.
