England v South Africa - 26/11/2022 - KO 4.30 GMT

Sinckler looks over the moon to be coming back on and straight into a defensive scrum

Honestly I think there's more hope and promise of better times in the future with Wales than there is with England.

Wales still developing, will probably have a coaching shake up, have exciting prospects involved and coming through and are coming from a smaller base with less resources. England have so many club players who are never considered, play a dull dated game, with no changes in sight and should really be doing so much better. Fixing Wales will be an easier job than fixing England.
This is laughable. Just no.

I think England have been done in every aspect today. The signs of this have been there all autumn and South Africa have suffocated us in a way NZ Looked like going too until the bizarre finish.

There isn't a functioning centre partnership. Farrell looks totally off the pace either as a 10 or a 12 at the moment. Our back row hasn't got the dynamism or mobility to control the breakdown. And the back 3 has frankly looked immobile compared to the other world class outfits we see.

And that's before we acknowledge the absolute beat down we've had at scrum time and line out today.

Goodness me- it will need to be some year between now and the World Cup.

Eddie made his name by being at the cutting edge of rugby tactics, but he just looks past it now, every other top nation minus maybe NZ is moving with a distinct strategy prepping for the world cup while eddie is going with stuff that everyone else was doing 2 years ago.

Nowellwatch: Didn't catch the ball in order to avoid revealing Eddie Jones' Brilliant Attacking Plan That No-one Can See Until The World Cup.

Stewart's arm is ruined
Depends what it is. I've had shoulder and an ACL dislocation.

Shoulder healed OK. ACL retired me (as I think @Which Tyler already knows). Could have got it fixed, but it was a grade 4 so pretty gnarly surgery. The specialist I saw basically said, 'unless you're being paid a lot of money to play, this is it for you …'.

Genuine question chaps- I love Maro Itoje but does anyone feel like the lad needs a rest or his minutes managed?

The guy who burst onto the scene looks a bit flat to me at the moment. When you look at the Lions Tours, World Cup, and Summer tours, I don't recall a time where he has rested?

Hasn't been at his best for England for a season now IMO

Well, South Africa are much better than we are. Even if we played the right players in the right positions and they played well, it may not be enough, but that was dreadful.

Flashbacks to 6 years ago, almost to the day.

Hyperbolic flashbacks, but flashbacks nonetheless.

I also should have said, it wasn't anywhere near as painful as watching that pile of ****.

Terrible, terrible game, it wouldn't change the scoreline and SA were the better team by a country mile but the officiating is amongst the poorest in recent memory, initial try looked like some blocking to me, the other try where he caught the ball when on his knees then precedes to score and it stands (he's on the ground, he's out the game…), then the constant slowling of the ruck which was constantly allowed, I did find it slightly odd that Faf was allowed to be a right tool at the back of an England scrum yeh JVP told he couldn't and to stay. None of this changes the outcome of the game.

Yes couldn't agree more. Itoje is an issue for me at the moment. Hill needs thrown out....

Lock is an issue.

Back Row...Curry looks half the player.
We need some brute power...Martin or my preference Ted Hill. Ribbans should start.
Shame Ollie Chessum has been injured...

Excellent performance from the bok pack. England need to be securing their set piece. To concede scrum penalties is unforgivable for an English pack.

Need lots of improvement in the forwards before the 6N
