England Six Nations Squad 2025

This is where SB will have to really earn his money...there's SO many options coming through he needs to pick the rights ones with the highest potential playing ceiling.
The perpetual problem for an England head coach - and why we really need an experienced one with a proven track record of doing exactly that.
Unfortunately, Wayne Smith wouldn't accept the job; RFU would never agree to speak with Erasmus.
Farrell is probably there now he's done another 10 years of learning and growing.
Edwards... may or may not be able to do that, but is probably aware enough of his limitations to get an assistant who can help.

Stuart showed goo scrummaging and footwork aswell as the basics being good too.

Genge on the other hand seemed to back off and slow down in the carry rather than baby rhino stuff, is this tactics as he looked for alot of offloads but sometimes I felt he should have powered on rather than slow down. I just noticed it a few times this tournement. Not say he played bad.

I think SB is slowly moving forward.

4 wins out of 5. Results better, performances erratic, but I think he's now got a clearer idea of who he does and doesn't want. Graph overall upward.

Front row. Pretty clear message that experience matters for the step up to this level. Stuart & Heyes have both improved. Genge has gone OK and there's a clear succession plan with Baxter. LCD now our first choice hooker and there needs to be a clear plan to succeed George. But in better shape and the likes of AOF and Fasogbon can be blooded, but will just have to wait their chance.

In the row Itoje's fitness record is quite incredible and he's nailed on for now. I think we'll now have to call Chessum a lock who can play 6 - I'd say he's our best line out jumper and probably our premium lock now. Him and Martin would seem to complement each other best and we'll see what that looks like in due course….if they can stay fit. Will be especially interesting if Chessum skippers Tigers.

What do you want from your flankers? A right royal pain in the arse unrelentingly in the faces of the opposition? Then look no further than Twindaloo. Too similar? Well, yes, but hugely impressed with both. Underhill and the emerging Pollock give strength in depth.

8's more of a conundrum for SB, but with the impact stuff of CCS, now also becoming an OK line out option he'd seem the obvious guy to invest in and complement the Currys. Earl and Willis may have something to say about that.

SB's nailed his colours to the mast for the half backs. Let's see how F gets on against the big boys but early signs are promising.

Centres. The other conundrum but in 18 months wouldn't be surprised to see Earl and Freeman. Lawrence was also going pretty well before injury.

In the back 3 I'm pretty sure he'd have picked IFW and Furbank if fit. Roebuck went well but Freeman plays if not in midfield.

Lots still to do, but some encouraging signs.

SB obviously likes the look of Earl at 12. Can't help thinking he's eyeing up a permanent move. Wouldn't be a total footballer but not unskillful and there are are worse traits than quick, powerful and good over the ball.

The 3 open sides back row is a bit unbalanced and I'm not sure it'll regularly work against better teams. Plus, unlike 12, there's a conveyor belt of talent on the flanks. Behind the Currys there's Pollock, Pepper, Underhill, Kenningham with CCS and Hill if you want something a bit different.
He's got a pretty decent pass as well. If he learns to kick we've got Nonu the Second

Question. Did England score tries in the last two games because it was weaker opposition Wales and Italy, or was it because they have changed their mindset with regards attack and their attack has actually improved?

Bit of both.

But don't forget we also scored 3 v Ire (OK a couple were when the game had gone) and 4 v Fra. It was only really Sco where there was a total brain fade.
