England Six Nations Squad 2025

For sure, but I reckon he'll settle as a ~103kg kinda player (Hooper, Savea, van der flier, Morgan esque).

Earl is pushing 110kg nowadays (listed in most places as 107kg, and he's kept growing). He's a big, big boy.

FTR I reckon that Pollock steps on the pitch as no heavier than 98kg right now, regardless of what he's listed as. Just look at him stood next to someone like Daly or Dingwall; he's not really any bigger.
And has an insane engine to go with it. Just keeps going and going.

I do like the beef and size of Tom Willis (or CCS) at 8 mind. So I do think SB is going to have a selection dilemma soon...and that also might mean Chessum is only considered lock form now on .not Lawes replacement.

I thought CCS did well but it annoyed me not having a lock on the bench.

For the summer we need to focus on locks and centres as two priority areas.

Although just checked and the tour is only two tests in Argentina so doesn't really give much time to try new things out.

We really should be playing a third test with a weaker/ different team.

My Lions squad has 10, possibly 11 Lions tourists:

My squad:

1. Porter / Genge / Schoeman
2. Sheehan / Kelleher / George
3. Furlong* / Stuart / Bealham (Fagerson)
4. Itoje / Ryan
5. Beirne / McCarthy / Chessum
6. T. Curry / Ritchie
7. Van der Flier / Darge
8. Doris / Conan / Earl
9. Gibson-Park / Mitchell / Williams
10. Russell / F. Smith / Prendergast
11. Lowe / van der Merwe
12. Aki / Henshaw / Tuipolotu* (Jordan)
13. Jones / Ringrose
14. Hansen / Graham / Freeman
15. Keenan / Kinghorn / Jordan** (M. Smith)

That gives me the following for Argentina:

1. Baxter / Rodd
2. Cowan-Dickie / Dan / Langdon
3. Heyes / AOF / Fasogbon
4. Coles / Isiewke
5. Martin / Clark
6. CCS / Hill
7. B. Curry / Kenningham
8. Willis / Pollock
9. JvP / Randall
10. M. Smith / Ford
11. Sleightholme / Hassell-Collins
12. Dingwall / Atkinson
13. Beard / Ojomoh
14. Roebuck / Murley
15. Furbank / Carpenter

Wildcard: Arundell

It's a pretty green squad overall so I could quite easily see the likes of Underhill and Slade going which I have very mixed feelings on.

I've gone with Kenningham as the second 7 based upon form and his performance in the A game.

Atkinson as one of the centre picks is hope rather than expectation but given he has similar strengths to Dingwall, it would be a logical (and deserved choice).

Lock is tricky if Itoje and Chessum are Lions (as expected). Coles and Martin pick themselves. I've gone with Isiekwe and Clark purely on the basis of them being in the mix but for injury. Maybe Lockett or Tizard get a promo from the A squad?

I'm not too sure about picking Arundell, but perhaps he goes as a good Will gesture following his repatriation?

Also - if Freeman isn't picked for the Lions, I would definitely persevere with him and Dingwall as a partnership.

We are ...USA is the 3rd test.

Christ, I really hope not

Is Fasogbon due back by the summer? Can't remember what his injury is/was
Yeah he's failed to impress when I've seen him in the champions cup and Roebuck thoroughly outplayed him, if he tried to use his pace he might have more success but insisted on trying to run over him which just didn't happen, I also think Roebuck has proven to have the most all round game probably matched only by Freemo.

If we wanted a pacy back three player then it has to be Hendy, for me - he's actually a good rugby player on top of being a good athlete
This is where SB will have to really earn his money...there's SO many options coming through he needs to pick the rights ones with the highest potential playing ceiling.

On balance I think you really need one at the top level for me that's the difference between being able to compete top four and not, although if fit and firing I think IFB has a descent balance of pace with some X factor which is probably the only thing Freemo and Roebuck lack slightly. It also depends what your asking from your FB.

Yeah, I was just thinking it might be a good carrot for players considering returning from France. I don't think it would be warranted.

Cheers, I checked on the England website summer tours and it only had the two arg games listed.
I didn't know about the USA game either. Final game of the tour on July 19th.

According to that article, we also have a Barbarians style uncapped game vs. a French XV on the 21st June. Not sure why that's not listed as an A game?

The Prem final is 14th June so technically, we'd be able to pick from all 10 clubs.

Actually - correction, found another article which explicitly says that no players from the Prem final or Top 14 play-offs will be available for selection.
