Clark injured and rehabbing with Gloucester apparently.Wonder if Clark might be added next week?
Only two locks in there by my reckoning

Apparently Underhill did his ankle again. Coetzee got a concussion. Pepper and Muir both pulled hamtrings. Nightmare!TY - must have missed that
Yep, knew about the other three. I'd thought Guy just had crampApparently Underhill did his ankle again. Coetzee got a concussion. Pepper and Muir both pulled hamtrings. Nightmare!
Are you sure you don't mean 3 weeks?I mean doesn't mean much until he signs for a English club, He has a 3 months ban and was with the U20's so it's nothing new
I just remember 3 tbhAre you sure you don't mean 3 weeks?
Question - can he be called up for England A (obviously, not whilst banned, but as a matter of course, is EngA subject to the same limitations as the senior team?)
Tbh it's a weird position because Martin and Chessum age profile would tend to mean they would be in the A team (23 and 24)Sidoke has impressed me more in the u20s, but he isnt playing much for Saracens yet. McCall will manage him well
The fact that Tizard is a starting lock for the As and Carpenter is reserve shows the gap we have at lock after Martin, Chessum and Itoje (and Coles).
Itoje was the one who got all the praise but Kruis was the one who did the real grunt work. It's no coincidence Itoje became less effective after Kruis departed. The other big miss was Attwood, that guy should have had far more England appearances.Tbh it's a weird position because Martin and Chessum age profile would tend to mean they would be in the A team (23 and 24)
Just happens they are very very very good already.
Honestly biggest lost to English rugby was Kruis crazy he is only 34 Whitelock is the same age. If we had managed to convince him to keep playing after 2019 I feel a lot would've been different.
Losing that rugby IQ and experience left a giant hole
Agree, Kruis was top class. but i also think we didnt get the best out of the likes of Attwood. He was the type of powerful lock we were crying out for but just never materialized.Tbh it's a weird position because Martin and Chessum age profile would tend to mean they would be in the A team (23 and 24)

The years of having Lunchbury, Kruis and Attwood as our heavy locks and Itoje and Lawes as our athletic ones really fizzled out pretty fast. We should have been set lock wise for the best part of a decade.I know he's no longer in the equation but mad to think that Launchbury's still only 33. Only had 13 minutes in an Eng shirt since the Mickey Mouse Autumn Nations of 2020.
Think we sometimes forget how influential he was. 70 caps is 70 more than I've got, but you can't help feeling we probably missed out on some real peak years.
Theres always big Ben at SaleYeah Tizard turned into a bit of a....flop feels harsh, but he definitely hasn't delivered on the promise he showed early doors
Decent club player but looked to have a much higher ceiling - only 24 though, I suppose. Theoretically still a world cup cycle away from his prime years
Think with him it's got to be a case where since he's involved in senior squads all the time and already has 2 A Squad appearances then they see more value in bringing in a fresh face rather than more of the same. Can't imagine any of the current A Squad centres have actually leapfrogged him.Fraser Dingwall is another worth mentioning - given that he was skipper last time out.
