England Six Nations Squad 2025

Be surprised if there wasn't one or two tbh,

Wouldn't be surprised to see Hill, Beard and Roebuck, maybe AOF (depends if he's been travelling reserve the past few weeks) - maybe Langdon too
Guessing Pollock will stay with the U20s
Also guessing Arther Clark will drop as he covered in the senior squad and played last time.
Team will be something like(some I can't think of)
AoF Langdon 3
Clark Tuima
Hill 8 Pearson
Porter 10
Ojomoh Beard
Murley Arundell (controversial choice) Hendy

I think there are a lot of centres that could partner Lawrence and look good. My issue would be if Lawrence got injured who comes in to bring the stardust.

I'd like 3 centres in our squad, a 12 a 13 and someone who plays both so we keep combinations going (like Aki, ringworm and Henchshaw). I know Lawrence is one of those but I'm not sure Slade is consistent enough to warrant a constant place in the squad.

But in the same breath I'm not sure we have any proven options so he might have to stay there until we bring someone through.

I also can't see a reason not to bring Max O through, club partner and great rounded player. But let's bring him through against Italy or someone like that or maybe Wales.
I get where your coming from there is a time and a place to build depth, as far as I am concerned though we have 0 proper 12s fixing that should be primary, then we can worry about options should Lawrence get injured or in the short term Daly or Slade can do a job, it's pretty difficult to start giving two additional centres meaningful caps at once.

AoF Langdon 3
More likely to see AOF at tighthead I reckon, especially with Fasogbon injured
One of the Saints lads at looseheads, the other on the bench (unless Rodd drops down)

Murley Arundell (controversial choice) Hendy
Arundel not eligible and Hendy injured - I reckon Carpenter at 15 and maybe Ibitoye on the wing

Guess my assumption was wrong 🤣

In that case I'd say...
1 Iyogun/Haffar
2 Dan
3 AOF
4 Clark
5 Ewells (He'll be there!)
6 Pearson
7 Pepper
8 CCS

9 Porter
10 Bailey
11 Murley
12 Dingwall
13 Beard
14 Roebuck ( OHC is worth a look)
15 Carpenter

Dan would be a waste at 2, imo, he's already got a whole bunch of senior caps
Better to go for Oghre, Langdon or even someone younger (no idea who)
CCS at 8 as well - I'm interested to see him play there more, but would rather someone fresh in the A squad

Think Murley isn't due back by next week either - even if he was I wouldn't drop both him and Roebuck down, just takes an opportunity away from someone else who's further on the fringe
Someone like Tobias Elliot maybe?

I reckon they'd only drop a handful down from the main squad - they've still gotta be able to train fully
How many dropped last time? Like 3 or 4?

Forgot about Tobias Elliot, he's looked great for Sarries considering his age seems to have a descent all around game and a bit of ex factor, early indications are promising that he could step up at international level.

1. Iyogun
2. Kepu (let's fast track the lad if we can)
3. AOF
4. Clark
5. Ewels
6. Carnduff
7. Pepper
8. Pearson
9. Porter
10. Atkinson
11. Ibitoye
12. Ojomoh
13. Joseph
14. Elliott
15. Hodge

My thinking is Dan looks 3rd choice at the moment and SB will want him getting some game time.

Murley is he injured or was that man management? Maybe im just too suspicious.

Roebuck again, a talented young lad who needs some game time. Wing is a spot we have a number of talented young players. IMO we don't need anymore new ones, we now need to develop experience in the ones we have. It may be an A game but if Roebuck is not in the Senior match day squad SB may want him getting time on the pitch.

CCS...depends what plans SB has for him for Scotland. What other options do we have at 8 in the League. I can't think of many...bar Barberry..who I can't keep up with if he injured or not. Is Clement at Gloucester and option or is he another 6? Who else?

If it's purely a game time thing then better off releasing back their clubs for the weekend - Rodd played in the Prem cup, for example

The A team I want it used as a stepping stone for players - whether that's guys in the full squad who are not being used and you want to see how they perform outside of their club environment (e.g. AOF, Beard, maybe Roebuck) or fresh faces you want to see for the same reasons

Wouldn't mind seeing a cap limit on it tbh,
10 cap hard limit, or 5 in the past year
Keep it purely developmental, but keep the door open for guys like OHC or Dingwall who have gotten a couple of caps but continued to develop since getting dropped but you don't end up with like Ford dropping down to get minutes (.....or Ewels)

Kenningham 100% deserves to be in the mix.

Cassius Cleaves might also be on the radar given he's a recent U20 grad.
in places of relative strength such as back row and wing I would skip over a few and give some young lads a shot who are potential rather than next in line.

Kenningham is a v good player and I'd have him in.

Cleaves I'd have in the squad tbh, OHC is an odd one as he is a great player but I just don't see him getting a shot for England. Same principle of Ewels in the pack he's a good player and has caps yet won't be stepping up so no point.

We have Freeman, IFW, Sleightholme and Murley so I think we is a good position for a while unless someone forces their way in. Same with Currys Willis Earl CCS and Chessum, not sure who else can break in for a while.

I want to see if Cleaves will get there, when he goes he's absolutely electric, definitely one to watch
