Eddie on the Gustard rumours
We've heard that Paul Gustard has been interviewed for the vacant job at Harlequins, what is your view on that situation?

"I was walking down the street this morning and some bloke came up to me about a rumour on something. I don't deal in rumours - when you've got a story let me know.

"If I dealt with every rumour I'd see shadows in the corner of every room.

I really stuggle to see this rumour being remotely true.
Maybe signs a contract for the 2019/20 season but no way will he leave England yet IMO.

Saying that if he fancies a job 2019/20 season Tigers better put their name in the hat.;

So according to Rugbynotreallyintheinsideline Gustard is 100% off to quins.

Which makes me a bit worried about Eddie, only Borthwick would be the other long term coach for england.
Talk Sanderson to replace him which would be good as then sarries will have lost both Gustard and Sanderson!

Yeh NZ spending their money for an English Prem club to get an English DOR/HC makes no sense what so ever.

The deal is basically for young players from the sounds of it. More a promotional thing for Adidas aswell.

Willis off with a knee injury,

Commentary mentioned Obano got injured in training yesterday. Classic England.

Hope that's just a bit of a hammie strain at most.

Would be surprised if there's any tendon tears.

You know what, I would love to see some stats about how many players have got injured whilst training with England and length of time injured for. There is at least 1 in the 'had to retire' column.

It's becoming a regular and serious issue that players are injured whilst training.

So looks like Gustard to Quins is a done deal. After the tour we won't have either a defence coach or an attack coach. A year out from the RWC that's sub optimal. If we don't arrest the run of defeats in SA it really will be a legitimate cause for concern.

On the plus side, some of the Sarries players were pulling up trees at the weekend. For the first time in ages Kruis looked superb.

Hopefully the need to replace Gustard will also be the kick Eddie needs to actually appoint an attack coach too.
