It's hard for countries like Scotland because we have such a small player pool but I think the SRU hasn't helped it by not promoting schools rugby as much as they should. The general population, except obviously the die hard rugby supporters, are not excited about rugby. There are countries like New Zealand, as an example, that rugby is almost a religion and Scotland has nowhere near that. I am just saying that smaller countries have to make do with foreign imports that want to play here.

I don't think it's right but until Scotland and other smaller rugby nations have enough young players coming through its the only way.
