Edwards' thoughts on ECC final

so he's ****** with Wasps being denied a HEC spot by a team that has finished lower than them in the league, fair enough but complete hypocrisy in his comments that Bourgoin deserve to be back at the top table, no mention of the fact that their winning of the ECC would deny Bayonne or Brive a spot in the HEC even though both have finished above Bourgoin.

this is hilarious I've picked out my favourite bits for a bit of analysis
their fanbase, perhaps the largest in the ECC - I can't remember the last time I saw such numbers at a club game.
uhhh try two weeks ago shaun

when we at Wasps won our two Heineken Cups, we also had to do it away from home, with our fans having to undergo the long trip to Twickenham, so Wasps know how it feels to be in their shoes.
please please tell me thats a joke

the final shouldn't need to be played in France to ensure we at Europe's premier club are playing in the continent's premier competition
:D

Wasps may not even have the chance to defend our trophy next year
eh? your trophy hmmm

Northampton finished a lowly eighth in the Premiership, and there cannot be many who would dare suggest they merit a place in the Heineken Cup at the expense of Wasps who soared to the mighty heights of 7th <_<

EDIT:
just looked at the first comment after it oh its priceless

Pathetic. Even my girlfriend sitting next to me, who would admit her rugby knowledge limit in places, is laughing at this article.

It's hard to even know where to begin with such drivel. At the beginning of the season every club knows the winner of the ECC will qualify for the Heineken Cup the next season. Perhaps performing well enough to finish higher than 7th and not get knocked out at the first hurdle in the HEC might have solved Mr Edwards problems. It is also amusing how he completely ignores all the evidence given about French sides being given more than one opportunity to host the final and showing absolutely no interest.

For a professional within the sport to write such bitter and childish rubbish is laughable. It's lucky they picked a smaller Lions squad than in 2005, they'll need extra space on the plane for Edward's obviously inflated ego.

I don't feel remotely silly having not paid proper attention to the source.

Oh, the irony.

Edwards, always proud to claim how Wasps were Premiership champions despite never finishing top of the league, uses an arguement like this.

Hypocritical northern tosser.

Edit: Bugger... I fell for it n'all...

I found it on a sportnetwork site. Thought it was real too at first. Quality spoof article though.
