Dave Rennie tipped as Chiefs coach

He should have been the Canes' coach, so the Chiefs are lucky to have him.

Foster woudl have been fired a long time ago if he was Blues coach.

8 seasons with one finals appearance to show for it.... he was living a charmed life

Good to hear some good news. Curious about the squad next year as most of the experienced players may leave.

hasn't done too badly the last few years, 2009 chiefs were top NZ team and 1 point off being top team in the super comp. Last year the team was totally gutted with injury.

One problem I have with the way the chiefs play is they do sometimes lack an identity with their style of play, like a style that can become their trademark. the great teams have this and though it can make the team a bit more predictable I think having a style of play and being very good at it outweighs predictability.

I also really dont like the way players have been managed at times through injury. Sivivatu and Kahui would be perfect examples of players who have been badly managed though injuries and Leonard to a lesser extent as well.

Also dont agree with some of the selections this year. The first few rounds saw a lot of chances in the chiefs lineup which only added disruption during a critical time when key players needed gametime to get up to speed with the new season and devalop critical combinations. Also poor use of the bench has cost the chiefs games this season.

Foster is actually as asshole in real life. An awful coach too.

Blames everything on injuries- he must overtrain them or something?

well Messam has re-signed which is one good thing, great leader and win or lose he always shines for the chiefs. One of those rare players who goes 80min every week, never takes a backwards step and never gets injured.

I dont for a momment believe "Foster is actually as asshole in real life". To me he always came accross as a good people person and seemed in touch with his players.
