Dallaglio calls for Wilkinson ban

Just out of curiosity how old is Andy Goode now? How did he get on in his time in the Tri Nations and how is he getting on in the Championship? He was a pretty decent player at one point. Also got to be honest I used to quite Charlie Hodgson at 10 for England, however he obviously had his faults and I haven't seen him play for a long time.

Goode's got to be around the same age as Wilko, so 30, give or take a year or two (probably give, i've got in my head he's 31?)
Apparently his time down under wasn't great, got two yellows in two games if I remember correctly
In the championship he's doing well with Worcester, with him directing the backs and Sanderson with the forwards there's a lot of experience there.
Goodes problem was that he's boring and kicks too much, but at Worcester that doesnt matter as theyre not trying to set the world alight, just get back upto the aviva, and its working as theyre 12pts clear at the top of the prem. He's dependable, in the he wont be aweful, but wont be amazing, will just plod along, looking like a hobbit, and do the job.

A lot of people dislike Hodgson because he used to be a ROG lookalike in defence, but he's not anymore, and is a good defender, can bring down the guys he tackles and has a good read of the game defensively
He's got tiptop distribution, accurate kicking at goal, and good at finding touch (not got the biggest boot but is accurate at what he does)

probably Hodgsons best game in an England shirt

No offence Ol, but if one of Goode's problems was that he was boring then he suited England's style of play down to the ground back then. I accept now that they are looking alot better and are playing more attacking and exciting rugby so on reflection maybe Goode wouldn't be an option. Reliable and steady but not exciting unlike the way England are now trying to play. Hodgson on the other hand, I'm really glad to hear that hes improved his defence because the other aspects of his game are pretty good so I'd like to see him try and play his way into Johnson's World Cup plans. Also what about Olley Barkley? I've heard good things about him recently

Goode is 30, still has time. From what I have seen and read he is not doing to bad.

It's true, he really did suit that style of play.
I can't imagine him being involved with England again, except if there were injured to pretty much everyone

Barkley is a good club player, but can't really bring it to the international level. It's a shame because I rate him a lot, but Johnson seems to hate him (he dropped him completely after avery average summer tour, whereas he only demoted Borthwick to saxons, despite being **** forever, and demoting tait, despite being poor as well - he also kept Payne on board...)
I'd still have him over Hape in a heartbeat

Well it looks likely that we'll need to find a replacement ten for the beggining of the 6 nations anyhow, as it doesn't look like Stephen Jones will be back from injury the beggining of the tournament.

Well, I was obviously wrong about that, as he's fit to play the next Scarlets match. Had it in my head that he wouldn't be back till midway through the 6 nations, no idea where from!

From everything I've read, Wilkinson says he fully accepts RFU's decision on its selection policy, and has prepared himself not to be selected. Seems a little out of the blue to have a go now.

In terms of the Wales future 10 prospects, surely a

10. Hook
12. Roberts
13. Henson

Would have all the creativity that would be needed. Whether Henson finds his feet at centre, in time for the 6 Nations, is another question.
