Converting from a back to a forward.

Might be a stupid question, but what is the purpose of the bandages/tape most forwards wear around their upper thigh's?

I actually don't no i think its so they can bend easier for rucks or something but im really not sure

A lot of jumpers wear them so the lifters get some grip, because otherwise you are lifting by their ass, which would result in less height.

Ah thankyou, been wondering about that one for a while.

I just want to say you good luck man. Hope your thinking come true. You really make a lot of efforts for it.

Ahaha, definitely a back

Yep, it's all about lifting, actually I forgot, that's really something you're going to need to work on. Given that you're pretty bulky for club level I doubt you're gonna get lifted, so to be a useful set piece forward you're definitely gonna have to get your practice in. You'll obviously be fine in terms of strength if you've been hitting the gym so long but my guess is you'll need a couple of sessions working on back and front lifting just to make yourself a bit more useful around the park.

Just an afterthought.

Well 2 weeks into pre-season and so far so good. We haven't done any set plays or anything like that just fitness and touch but during touch I've been keeping on the shoulders of the props and also getting the idea on running good lines as a forward so I'm enjoying it so far. In regards to jumping, the lads who get lifted at our club are all my size or bigger so I'll see what happens there. Towards the end of pre-season the 3 senior squads will be selected so will have to see were I end up first. But all in all I'm enjoying it and can't wait for the season to start.

strangely Aedaphon im a flanker but im still young only 15 so ive never played a match with lifting yet. Next season i will learn from my mistakes :)

Lifting starts in Ireland at u16 so great fun at that age if an English side tours.

Yeah i bet. I also guess that the english tour sides usually win lol

Nop personnaly I've never lost to a touring side or when I myself have been touring. Only thing is you never know when you'll be playing one of the better teams or the **** ones.

Can't disclose that for legal reasons ;) You'll just have to take my word for it. I'll admit I've probably played the shitter teams. I've played Brigend school home and away (I know they're Welsh) and two English teams Reigate school who were pretty useless and some other club team but we never found out their name! They were closer but we still beat them by 15-20 points.

Brigend are welsh arn't they ive played them. They play in green. They have a very good junior team we drew with them. Also this is probably a stupid question but is that you in the picture coz if it is ur stacked lol
