Championship 2014/15

God only knows why Bristol started with Matt Morgan.
His "defence" (if you can call it that) was genuinely the worst I've ever seen from a professional rugby player, he wasn't running the game whatsoever, wasn't goal kicking and wasn't taking the kicks for touch.
Nicky Robinson's come on and basically single handedly dragged Bristol into the lead..

100% agreed and stupid selection!! Goodish game though!!

A win but a bit shakey by the sounds of it, Morgan is a good running 10 but opposition know this now his game management needs some work. A lot of work to do this week to ensure a final place by the sounds of it.

A win is a win, although we need to be playing better then we have recently if we have any chance of promotion

Apparently Tom Cruse played well for Rotherham only interested because we've just signed him

He did, but realistically he's a flanker.
Weirdly every hooker that comes through our academy starts out as an openside and is converted - Cruse's darts and scrummaging aren't great, but he was a great workrate around the pitch and is good at the breakdown.

Worcester beat London Scottish 38-15, tonight, to book their place in the final(s).

Good match by the warriors last night, seven changes were made from the previous encounter with Scottish and I have to say I was very impressed by a few players especially our front row, I haven't seen worcester dominate a scrum so much than I did yesterday.

Bristol are now through to the finals, i turned the game on late so i don't know how they performed, but i imagine they have got a good shot at going up this year considering worcester have one banned scrum half and our second choice is injured leaving us with our 3rd choice and a 17 year old as back up, also if pennell isnt fit for the final we could really be in the poo, our second choice fullback went off injured aswell against scottish but im not sure how bad his injury is :/ oh well we will just have to wait and see

In the least surprising news of the season it's going to be a Bristol vs Worcester final.
First leg at Brizzle, second at Wuss

Very common conversion for opensides who aren't quite good enough around the field but are big enough for the role as far as I can tell; guys who play front row all the way through seem rarer and rarer.

Wasn't a perfect display by us today but thought we played well. Was worried a bit how often Lemi drifted in leaving a wing exposed to their pace. Other than that they didn't really threaten us. We got away with one for Mama's try, cheeky not straight put in by Peek, not called. Good finish though.

Overall, happy to go through and remain confident we'll do it

interesting that bristol want to play the first leg at home and then want to play the second at sixways, would have thought it would have been the other way round.

The last 2 we've played home last and it's not gone well. Also i think we've thought, we've beaten you at ours and yours so theres less fear factor held.

ah thats a fair point, tbh i reckon we may get a stuffing at bristol whereas its potentially going to be pretty close at sixways so you may as well go there with a big deficit and then not have to worry so much when you arrive at sixways. I dont think another year in the championship will harm worcester too much we have a decent squads for next year and have decent squad depth so i reckon we should go up next year if we dont manage it this time round.

Who will Win ? I dont know. Its all cat and mouse, mind games being played by both teams, each watching the others every move, Ok I'll be calling Bristol but there is one fact that wont be denied. Its going to take many a Beer to settle the nerves of so many fans come Wednesday including mine ..

Should Bristol be lucky enough to get through I'll be honest there is a little part of me that would miss the Championship. Why? Well there's so many Honest, true rugby Clubs in there with some of the best and friendliest fans around and I will miss that.
Its great to see these big gleaming new stadia being built but they cant replicate the friendly welcoming feeling you get at a smaller stadium or a well run championship club.
Even though many think of the B&I CUP as being lets say a bit of a tinpot trophy nobody can deny that going to places like Ponty's famous "House of pain" wasnt enjoyable.
All Great clubs with great fans & real rugby people. I Suspect many a Worcester fan will say the same.

Agreed to be honest part of me doesn't mind spending another year in the championship, I'm not sure if Worcester are ready for the step up to the prem yet, we have a lot of young players who are developing very nicely and the championship gives then a chance to play in the first team, we shall see what happens but I'm hoping it's going to be a tight game as there has been a lot of build up to this match.

Been one hell of a game so far!
Worcester lead 22 - 17 at halftime.
Ryan Lamb having a shocker from the boot, left 9pts on the pitch and some of them were pretty easy kicks. Bristol were down to 13 men for a few mins with both tightheads getting yellow carded (one for side entry on the try line, the other for repeated scrum infringements).

Bristol 28 - 29 Worcester!

Hell of a game, Worcester with a converted try after the clock had gone red to win the thing.

Henson went off with what looked like a nasty leg/ankle injury - that could be important on the return leg. His kicking, and general leadership in the midfield, will be missed.

I am an emotional wreck what a game, still all to play for however.
