Furlong has missed a lot of rugby but if he's fit, he goes. I think he's just a level above his competition.

Lake has a shot but Hooker is an interesting spot. I imagine Sheehan and Kelleher are inked in with the remaining spot up for grabs. Cherry has been decent for Scotland but realistically it's probably a toss up between George's reliability/prior experience as a tourist or Lake's dynamism.

I think Farrell will go with George, possibly even as a contender for midweek captain. I guess you could make a case for Lake doing the same though …

Farrell is a hard northerner. He'll relate more to Lake than a soft, southern fairy like George.

Exactly as @odw26 said I was referring to the question: 'if not Kinghorn then who?' when it was suggested he might not tour because of club commitments.

There wasn't and isn't a debate about Keenan going.

Keenan has been pretty invisible this 6N. Even though he's played 3 games this year, I can't remember him doing anything of note at all.

Is Owen playing well at Racing? He was absolute shite on the last Lions tour. People said at the time how Russell took Sexton's spot. It was Owen who shouldn't have gone four years ago. He wasn't even in form before the last squad was announced and was picked solely on reputation.

Biggar was the 10 disaster on the last tour.

Yup. Biggar wasn't great for Wales in the preceeding 6N either, with Wales relying on Anscombe coming off the bench to get us over the line and claim the championship in many games. (Some distant, foggy memory of some cards too maybe).

Yeah he was Gatland's man and was never not touring last time. Reliable off the tee, physical, good leader but a distinct lack of creativity.

I just remember when Russell finally got on the pitch 3rd test there was a massive change to the attacking shape - we looked dangerous finally.

Was never a big fan when he played for Wales, but Biggar is very good at the punditry/interviewing he is doing now, intelligent man and comes across well behind the mic.

Yeah Biggar's content on YouTube is very good and he clearly knows his stuff.

I remember going into the last Lions tour most pundits had Biggar as the starting 10 despite an indifferent 6N. Gatland couldn't see past him. Russell still had the maverick tag at the time plus got injured and was in a boot until just before the third test (hence Marcus being called up). But yeah, the handbrake was released when Russell came on for Bigger in that third test.

I would agree, definitely touring and a very good player but I don't remember seeing much exciting from him that I can recall.
