Champions Cup - Pool 5, Round 4 (Treviso, Northampton, Ospreys, Racing Metro)

He may not be but i am..................loving this match................exciting because of the crap handling and that move started by King Thomas from behind his try line was worthy of a try - which would have been the best of the season..........!!

Weird game. Again, Ospreys coming back strong. I have a feeling we are going to need the full 5 points off of Treviso as I can't see us trouble Saints on the road..

Man, this team without Dulin and Thomas would.. be 5x more boring..

Was catching a quick eye full every now and then between 'family time' wrapping Chrstmas pressies, @Big Ewis. So, didn't want to compromise viewing time by posting, ya know.

^ too late, match over now ! That match was freakin INSANE !!! That sequence like you said started by Thomas in his goal area, endless counterattacking from both ends :D
Very good they didn't let this one slip at the end there. It's been the same tendency exactly from last week at Ospreys: big first half, under control, the better team. And then the Ospreys with a late run making a game of it, threatening to win both times. Still undefeated, Racing.

lol that's fine. And yeah I agree with your post. Goosen was fantastic in the first half though, and good on the whole. Saints to win at home almost certainly, and Racing better hammer the living fluke out of Peugeot Automobile at home. But Racing still in with a chance - def. a huge step up from last year

This will be a long day for Treviso I fear. :(

Poor lad. It must be so hard as an Italian Supporter. They just need massive funding into their club programs.

Northampton will win this group. Racing NEED 5 pts against Treviso to snag the top runners up spot tbh.

Should be a good last game match up as long as Saints don't implode away at Ospreys which they have a habit of doing now and again. With a great points difference Saints have good chance of being in top seeds and The Gardens is always a tough place to come. 1 2 3 and 6 I feel will be Toulouse Tolon then winner and runner up in this group.
Could even be Saints v RM or vice versa in QF. 4 5 7 and 8 to close to call at present other than only 1 from pool 3.

Hi gentlemen! I have a question for you English, Welsh, Irish, Scottish and Franch friends and rugby supporters! Is it right the participation of an Italian team to the Champions cup? Is it usefull for European Rugby and Italian Rugby? Sorry for my bad English! Thanks in advance for your replay!

Hi mate, welcome to the forum.

In my opinion, I don't agree with guaranteeing every country a place in the Champions Cup. I think that the tournament as a whole would be more competitive if every team had to qualify on merit from each league, and I also don't think it is particularly good for the Italian team. Have Treviso gained anything from losing every game? I would say no. By the fourth game out of six, they had given up and sent a B team to get thrashed at Northampton and everyone could have predicted that before the tournament even started, I don't see how that is useful to them. They would be better playing in the challenge cup where they would play some teams around the same level as them and some which are better, but not very many who are so much better.

Do you support one of the Italian teams, or are you just a fan of rugby in general?

Thank you for your satisfing answer!

I agree with you in every single sentence (here in Italy a lot of people do not understand these concepts!!!!). I am a fun of rugby in general, obviusly with a little preference for Zebre and Treviso, and I play at a low level here in Italy, near Rome. I think we have a lot of problem in our rugby federation and I would try to understand which is the perception out of Italy.
