Biggar vs Sexon; match-up of the form 10s in Europe (the world even?). That in itself is worth the watch IMO. I'll wait for the line-ups before I get carried away on here. I'm just very glad there is still some rugby left this year that I am personally invested in; it'd be torture if the Bok loss against Wales was the last taste in my mouth till April!

As requested. +1 for your efforts (and as an apology for making one myself causing you unnecessary work)

BTW, who are you rooting for this comp, Big Ewe? RCT maybe?

mmm, a pity green rep. Had never received any of those before.
....oh wait.

Oh......... <_<

But thank you stormertwothousandandten. And thank you for practicing your new found mystical powers of making posts and even threads disappear. Your mana is formidable.

I will now contribute to the thread, as a humble token of my appreciation and gratitude towards you:

here's the table for this pool so far, and so far so pool:

Of course those two wins came from a very important, potentially telling, and handsome win against the English champs at home but the other from a laborious game against the Peugeot showroom team, which really REALLY should've landed the speedy Francilian club a potload of points, which it didn't, which is problematic for in the pool, you need as much oxygen as you can to survive (mmm ?? aaah ?? mmmm ????).

So Macing Retro 29 are now racing to Osprey land, where as the legend goes, everyone wears that weird kinky little mask, as sexual intimidation against their visitors. Those Ospreys have both smashed at home and got smashed away by respectively Benetton and the Saints. Not much of an indication...if Racing can make this three out of three, it would mean lots to their lungs.

oh and to respond to your again late ( *siigghhhhhhhh*) post shturmah, yeah Toulon for me, but any French club would do. I particularly like Toulouse and Clermont, but Racing is good too (you know I love the Franco-South African alliance there) and Castres but they never produce on this scale.

Second to French clubs, I like Munster for their uncompromising, unpretty Rugby and the fact they produce such great results without the bigger names that, say, Leinster have (to talk Irish provinces). I like the Saracens too, and the Scarlets have seduced me in the first round in Mayol, Toulon. Haven't seen much of the Scottish teams, but I know they like to attack, Glasgow Warriors play Toulouse this week so I may find a new club I like.

RM92 has indeed had it easy(ish) so far; home and then the 'easy' away match. I fully expect us to win all our home matches and this might be ignorance talking but I'd be surprised if we didn't sneak it in.. Swansea? I wouldn't read too much into the sub par performance against Benetton; only Le Roux pitched for that match and the breakdown was allowed to become a farce which always keeps the 'smaller' team in the match.

You seem to be watching a lot of rugby with all those teams you are following! Any favorites from the Southern hemisphere or particularly SA?

agree with that, yup. But it was still the time to cash in on the points, too late now, they were the one big French club that had a pool with the one Italian side in this Cup, won't get a chance half this good now.

Wish I had a clear answer to what you're asking but SR remains to me this thing I always watch when our seasons are over, here. It's good, in fact it's much more spectacular than our stuff up here, but one only has time for so much. The Waratahs were absolutely gorgeous this past year from all the mid-season/late games I saw. I saw the Sharks play a few matches and they looked just like the Springboks to me: Du Plessis bros, Alberts+Coetzee, JP Pietersen, Lambie, huge pack, ability to bounce back from being down late in a game...for an outsider, they looked just like the Boks but playing SR. All that was missing was seeing Meyer's trans moments in the control tower and maybe Bryan Habana and it was all set.
It'll take me a lot more watching to really pick a side as anything else would be much too frivolous and artificial, I mean, I don't even know what Top 14 fan I am !!

So I'm guessing still no Dulin for the Racingmen... :/ although the Tsar back is definitely a good thing, meh form or not, just for his leadership and bringing stability to the group.

Well, Racing will get another chance against Benetton at home. I'd be surprised if they came into that match half-arsed again. On top of that if we can take the 'O's away I'd back us at home. But lets get passed them this weekend first before we see what chances we have of a home QF... all might depend on that crunch game away to the Saints.

On SR there are quite a number of teams playing sexy rugby, even a few of the SA sides. The Cheetahs and Lions love to play the game at a heart-stopping pace and could start pushing if it weren't for their defenses being as full of holes as a Cheetah has spots. Even then the 'bigger' teams seem now to have catched on that running rugby is the way forward; the Sharks have appointed an attack coach, the Bulls have vowed to keep ball in hand more and they should do well with a monster pack and then Hougaard, Pollard, Odendaal and Serfontein 9 to 13. The Stormers have started playing a very attack minded game in this year's Currie Cup to complement the fact that we've been the stand out defensive side in SR these past 5 years. Watch for hot steppers like Kolbe, Senatla and Juan de Jongh and a skilled forward in new Bok Nizaam Carr to provide the razzle dazzle to complement the solidity provided by guys like Vermeulen, Malherbe, Etzebeth, Schalk Burger, Damian de Allende and Jaco Taute. Pity we've lost backline class in Habana, Jaque Fourie and Gio Aplon (on top of now injured Jean de Villiers) recently as our pack has matured now..

So, yes, join WP/Stormers. The only thing standing in the way of global dominance is the lack of a decent halfback pairing (yes, I know, big hole right there).

But, erm, yes, Racing Metro by 11!

But everybody's going to pound Peugeot Automobiles at home, they're the official punching ball of the pool. The points Racing left there in Italy are forever lost, and surely the Saints this weekend won't make that same mistake.

well some of those understood where it's really at, you know, can't blame em...

And Ospreys are second in Pro 12 - that's, better than Ulster, Leinster and only behind Munster. Er. And also, Err er. I dunno about Racing by elevens..
Would be nice to have some input from the Welshies heaah.

I hear where you are coming from regarding the other two will most likely take 5 off Treviso away. My point of view is ****'em, it won't matter if we beat them at home and the other teams in other pools don't get the benefit of facing Treviso at all so that on top of beating the other pool members (even if they are high up in their own domestic leagues) we are in a good position to secure home play-off spots. This POV is of course resting on my wonderful (and uniquely?) South African ability of totally ignoring our own limitations...

Yes, it's strange that there have only been us in here; no Saints- or Ospreys-centric posters. Even @MauriSca7 is a relative regular poster on here and nothing regarding Treviso.

oh dear yes it appears you're right stormer, as I look back it's been literally just you and me for the past...eternity ? We even arrived here at the same time, both conflictingly in fact as we both attempted to make this thread at the sam...aaaaaand we're dead. Yep I just elucidated the plot: we don't know it, but we actually died at the same time and this is our afterlife, talking about Racing's chances in the pools and what teams we like from other leagues.

...*sigh*......well, still less sad than some other threads on this website..
sooooo, can we like, order pizza in purgatory ? You like thin crust or deep pan ?

@ImScotty asked me to post italian championship results, that's why I write often in this forum, otherwise there wouldn't be reason for me to be here, indeed if you noticed it I was unactive on this forum for almost a year,I don't follow rugby so much anymore and so I can't comment about matches or teams situations

First off, welcome to purgtory. Secondly I am sad to hear you've been put off rugby. If I may ask, is it the SARU/WPRU situation I know about with you alone or were there other factors?

To be honest it was both things,I was tired of situations I was living in rugby (above all the SARU/WPRU situation) and in the same time I received an offer from a relative who plays in NFL

Was going to say "no real surprises" as I scanned through the pack but then that backline, WOW !...no Teddy, no Chavancy, no Imhoff, Machenaud on the bench, and what's the story with Sexton again ??..Dulin still out injured ... :/

anybody watching the Racing game ? Racing pack taking control early.

What's up with the Racing 15's hair? It's so funny watching him all focused and playing rugby seriously with that on his head lol

Watching on the Sky Sports broadcast. Those Irish and Welsh guys are fkng biased as HELL. Hilarious.

you mean what's up with Lapeyre's incredibly ridiculous kick when he had a 3 on 1 and sure try opportunity. He can wear whatever hairdo he wants if he makes the right plays, nobody gives a shiit ! :p
