Champions Cup - Pool 4, Round 1 (Bath, Glasgow, Montpellier, Toulouse)

Hate to rain on your parade but Glasgow were playing a Bordeaux second XV and it is generally accepted in the Top 14 that UBB do not have a great depth of squad so feel you may like to temper your absolutely correct enjoyment of the result with just a little caution as to its real value!!
no it was Edinburgh who played a Bordeaux second XV Glasgow were playing a strong Bath team.

I hate to rain on your parade but Glasgow weren't playing away to Bordeaux at all. Glasgow were too busy hammering Bath.
And it may well have been a second XV from Bordeaux, but for an Edinburgh team who have been struggling recently, to go away from home to a hostile ground and win as they did was still a great result regardless.

As you may have surmised, as I was answering your initial comment, and would willingly admit in a senile moment, I misused the fair city of Edinburgh with that other one that my Scottish Father always used to say, we are going back to the 1960's here, was never a part of Scotland!!!

Now I quickly would emphasise that that was my Father's view...............I have had just a few good trips to the city on the Clyde and they did have a good result against a very, very poor Bath team!!

Well I'm not going to argue with you on an internet forum over how good or not the results recieved by Edinburgh and/or Glasgow were over the weekend. Time will tell.

Having watched all the Bath games so far this year, yes Bath played very very poorly. They even played better against Wasps with only 13 men on the pitch than they did vs Glasgow. I don't know what was wrong but they were clueless in attack and were kicking the ball away a lot more. The lineout and breakdown work was laughable along with a lot of basic handling and tackling errors. I don't know why but Bath the last 2 games have suddenly flipped and gone from beating Sarries to getting 3 yellows vs Wasps and absolutely smashed by Glasgow...

Montpellier come away with a defensive bonus point when they should have won the game, 3 kicks 3 tries awful defending by something that is not that hard to counter, Toulouse just start finding some form at the wrong time for us, we still need more experience in these kind of games, probably a little to strong on the attack when some good pick and go forward play would maybe have helped. We have a replacement for FTD, a certain Ben Lucas 26yo from the Reds and understudy to Quade Cooper, hope he is ok big shoes to fill but Enzo Selponi did well for the last 2 games, and will keep his place for the next few games if all goes well for him....
