Champions Cup - Pool 2, Round 2 (Castres, Harlequins, Leinster, Wasps)

Daly lucky not to have lost Pests the losing bonus point!

Happy with that. Lowe at 12 makes us look a lot more consistent on attack and Yarde seems to be finding his feet. Matthews deservedly MotM and is playing much better. Thought Robshaw had a great game, Evans also, I was a bit annoyed that Care ended the game early and didn't at least set a few more phases and give someone a shot at the drop goal. That losing bonus point may come back to haunt us if things go awry in France of Dublin.

Wasps need a new ten. They are staying in games through a massive effort in defense and through the physciallity of the back row. But recently, despite often having lond passages of possession, they only seem to be scoring from opposition mistakes or through individual brilliance. They need someone to give the impressive backs they have some direction. Goode van put them in the right parts of the pitch but doesn't seem capabale of doing much else at the moment.

Fair play Quins, well worth thewin and the supporters (that's you Patchey!) should enjoy this one tonight.

As for Wasps....we're terrible. We're winning the odd game this season through the individual moments of inspiration of several very fast players. This team lacks direction and we are not getting the most out of many of our players.

i though Quins Hooker today (Ward?) was excellent in the loose, impressive. Lowe was good, Robshaw and co better than our back row although Sam Jones had a strong game.
Did Yarde literally marinate his hands in butter overnight? He dropped the ball SO MANY TIMES!

i will!

Yarde must be rubbing butter into his fingers as part of a skincare regime, he is struggle to catch the ball quite a bit. When he does catch it he's looked better though.

Do you reckon Alex Lezowski might get a run out at ten soon? I'm amazed he hasn't been played yet. LV is next weekend though.

moisturising is important to be fair. I don't think Lezowski will see any league exposure unless Goode is crocked. This is why we couldn't make sense of the new fly-half signing because he's no better than Lozowski and will only deprive the latter of potential game time.

I had completely missed the Glyn Hughes signing! Had to Google it to see what you were talking about.

Very strange, because the signs are that Lezowski is a real prospect. I guess the management don't think he's ready and want to give him LV experience first.

The reason I didn't give a name was because I'd literally forgotten his name - shows how much of an impact that signing had upon me!

Miller has obviously been our preferred reserve 10 - which to me makes the new signing baffling.
